Many time I leave my office at lunch to drive into Huntsville or Owens Cross Rds/Hampton Cove. On my way back to the office (1 hr lunch) I call ahead and never fails the person there will have my sandwich, exactly as I asked ready to go. Very nice counter people!

I have not had very good luck with BBQ places in Alabama, but Lawler's was a pleasant surprise. I went for lunch and had the lunch plate special. I got a nice smoked turkey sandwich with mayo and slaw on it and a side of slaw as well. The turkey was very tender and moist with a great smoke flavor. The slaw was made with extremely fine chopped cabbage and a vinegar base dressing. I prefer coleslaw that is prepared with a creamy mayo based dressing, but this slaw was good. There were several bottles of different BBQ sauces to add to the sandwich. I tried the regular BBQ sauce and the white BBQ sauce both of which were very good. The best part was that the lunch plate which included the sandwich, a side and a large drink was less than $6! What a bargain! The atmosphere is somewhat of a hole in the wall. It was fine for lunch, but I certainly would not want to take the family there for dinner. The young lady at the register was wonderfully polite and friendly. I would definitely eat there again for lunch or get take out for dinner.Oh my goodness what a review! Can we use this as a commercial please? OINK OINK Butt...hole in the wall??? Local diner with Bfast/Lunch anytime. Love the open window views and the small personal feel even though not a lot of seating . morning stop had people waiting. Most booths only hold two people. But have extra chairs to pull up. spaces at counter also. bfast of eggs, bacon, pecan waffle .50 extra, onions in hashbrowns .50 extra but value priced items offered..coffee delicious! They keep the refills coming. Wanted to get a patty melt so will have to stop by again at lunch or dinner!

Visited with one adult and one child. We got our order "to go." It was correct, minus leaving out the kids treat (which I realized before leaving.) They happily gave it to me, no issues. The food is good and we typically don't have any issues there. It can get very busy at peak dining hours, so if you have flex time maybe visit after peak dining times.
