Reviewed By MarieMat66The room was incredibly basic and unwelcoming, and you had to walk outside 75m from reception to the room. We only stayed there because the Ibis we had booked had central heating failure - the price is much the same, but a huge difference in quality! Hardly room to walk down my side of the bed, bottom sheet so small it didn't cover the mattress, quilt nowhere near warm enough for the winter, draughty front door, icy cold floor tiles in shower room. We chose it partly because I thought in bad weather having an onsite restaurant would be good, but it was closed. First time at a Campanile, hugely disappointing, never again.

A superb base to explore the region! So nice to come back on a hot day and cool off in the pool. Excellent value in our opinion. Only minor thing, had a smell of cigarette smoke in the room when we arrived. It dissipated quite quickly with the windows. A shame as the rest of the hotel was exceptionally clean. Could have been someone smoking next door or in the corridor so not marking anything down, was the only small negative.

The staff on reception were helpful & friendly As mentioned on previous posts, the car parking outside is down a very narrow street. The alternative is underground hotel parking (on level minus 5 so take this into consideration!) Due to our vehicle size, we parked in the car park around the side of the hotel near the pharmacy, which was cheaper anyway. We had an apartment with 2 bedrooms (double & twin) with a large living area, tv and dining table Bedrooms were a good size Not enough coat hangers though... (2 per room!!) Would stay here again if visiting Agen...

Good value for price
Reviewed By Aitor Xabier LGood: Just 45€ for 2 or 3 people (in my case). Clean and new. Bad: Far away from city centre (25 minutes walking). No lift. No english or spanish spoken. No special place to put a bicycle in case you are doing the Garona bike-tour. Good price for value. If you're just looking for a normal and cheap place to sleep, it's ok.

Reviewed By nsander219If you accept this hotel at it's rating it is very good. It doesn't pretend to be anything but an Ibis in the centre of a small town. It does need a bit of an upgrade but we found it clean and warm. The staff were great and friendly. The room was large enough and comfortable. Good shower with the standard Ibis squeezy toiletries. Breakfast was fine and readily replenished - not a wide choice but enough to start the day. Car parking is easy underneath down a side street. If theneed arose would not hesitate to stay again.

Reviewed By dances123What can I say.... what a lovely stay like all French hotels they are basic but spotlessly clean. Great welcome considering we only booked about an hour before we arrived. The owner was very polite and very helpful. It had the best shower I've been in in a long time?. The breakfast was good too can't fault this hotel. So much so we stopped there on the way back too.

A good night's sleep
Reviewed By pgbDublinOn our way from Toulouse to St. Emilion, we decide to break the journey in Agen. This hotel is close to the city centre and there is an underground car-park directly underneath. The hotel is in an ugly concrete building. The photos flatter it somewhat. They may be a few years old. However, we were delighted with our one night's stay. Comfortable beds. Our room was small but clean. The air-conditioning was the best so far out of 8 hotels on this trip. We were at the front, but slept soundly until other guests started moving around at about 07:30. There was no traffic noise. There is a double set of windows, the original single pane and then, outside that, a newer double-glazed set. The bathroom was absolutely pristine. Spotlessly clean. Every inch gleaming. Highly recommended. We would definitely return. We ate at Monsieur Jeannot. Delicious food, great value and very friendly people.

Stayed in a time-warp private house which is really a hotel. Great!

Owned by the same family for several generations, it is full of antiques, pictures, everything which a family may have collected over the years so it feels like you are staying a private home. The bedroom and bathroom were old fashioned but immaculately clean, good bedding, comfortable bed. The owner gives a very warm and personal welcome, he is proud of this gem of a place. It's not luxury but a great experience. We had breakfast in the stately dining room under the gaze of Stefan's great-grandmother the Comtesse.

Not the best B&B
Reviewed By Andrew SRoom could do with a good deep clean and a re paint water would not drain away in the shower plug hole was full of hair not very nice. The bread at breakfast was stale, the only good thing as with all of the B&B chain you have your own shower and toilet in room if sometimes dirty you can park and they are cheap so if you only wont a bed for the night stay here.
