The White House Inn

Work in progress

The Inn was undergoing renovations and upgrading during our visit. So far, inside restoration work, furnishings and decorating are beautiful. There will be a challenge bringing the grounds and gardens back to what must have been amazing. We hope to return to see the progress in the fall. The Inn is still a grand and luxurious place to stay.

The Vermont House

The Vermont House is an 1850’s elegant colonial inn with a storied history in the center of Wilmington, Vermont. Throughout its tenure in the Deerfield Valley, it has been a warm respite for travelers to the Wilmington area. Over 150 years later, it has been completely renovated as a Hermitage property and continues a tradition of unsurpassed elegance in the heart of the Deerfield Valley.

Fantastic, cozy hotel in a great location.

My fiancé and I have stayed at multiple hotels near Mount Snow and The Vermont house was by far the best. Our room was perfect. Plenty of space for our bags and ski gear, very comfortable bed and a nice modern bathroom. The staff was extremely friendly and even helped us with dinner recommendations. The location of the hotel was great. It’s right on the main strip in Wilmington and in walking distance to 3 or 4 very good restaurants and a couple really fun bars. It’s only a 15-20 minute drive to the mountain which was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that is going to Mt. Snow or even just visiting the area.

Nice price but thin walls

This is one of the most reasonably priced hotels in the area (to be honest, I’m not sure why hotels are so expensive in this region). It is an old road side motel and will take you back to a different time. The people at the desk were nice enough. The decor and furnishings are 1990 vintage, but there was a flatscreen tv and a mini fridge. The bed was fine. My two main gripes were 1. The safety lock (I don’t know what you call it… the thing that replaced the old chain locks) was broken. It wasn’t a very threatening area, but… I just prefer having the extra lock. I used the old lodge a chair under the door handle thing which was fine, but that should really be replaced. My only other gripe was that the nitwit couple in the room above me walked around and talked until about 2 in the morning. That floor is thin and I could hear every step and every syllable. I use a white noise app, but even that wasn’t enough.

Historic building with charming owners

This is a historic building, dating back to 1905. Don't expect todays amenities. Our room was small but comfortable and very clean. It included a small TV with cable channels and good WiFi. There was no coffee maker, microwave, or refrigerator, but the owners will offer to make you coffee or tea and allow you to use the kitchens microwave. The owners have had this property for 45 years and are very personable. Unfortunately the restaurant on premise has been closed but there are many options within walking distance.

Wonderful Inn! Very attentive owners who have put so much into this great B&B. Very comfortable bed- very clean - even though it was mud season in Vermont. I had alternate brunch plans - so did not have the breakfast - but it smelled amazing! I can't wait to return!

Comfort, clean rustic style and GREAT service

Way better than average breakfast & superb coffee. My room was spotless, quaint and upgraded from standard queen to king with FP with staff compliments. Location is close enough to all local attractions without being either right smack in busiest area of town, nor far up a muddy gravel road. Staff was attentive without being intrusive. A very comfortable place to stay solo or otherwise.
