Spacious and convenient

Reviewed By TrulyTassie

We initially booked the Terr. Aparts. for five nights but I fell sick again and had to cancel our ongoing plans and stay there for a further four night, and thank fully there was availability to stay without moving. We had a two bedroom central apartment and there was plenty of space and facilities although showing their age were more than adequate to provide comfortable accommodation. Location was great especially towards the end when we decided to take the hire car back and not extend; being able to walk to all we needed, including 12 mins to the train station which together with the Opal Card, made many more things possible. More attention could have been given to cleaning where the bathrooms and rubbish removal were either light on or absent at times. Nathan is a friendly and helpful manager (?) and resolved queries appropriately. This was especially so when on the last night some noisy guests below us decided not to follow the clearly stated request to be mindful of other guests and keep noise down, especially after 10pm. It took a couple of phone calls and finally visits to the offenders, but he followed up each time with increasing demands and finally all went silent just after midnight. We were greatly appreciative of this as some places may have abdicated their responsibility, but Nathan responded with appreciated effect. Thank you. Overall this was an easy, comfortable and enjoyable stay. Worth noting are others comments about the steep entry, especially if a low/medium height car. And choose a room that is not opposite the Indian restaurant; good food but a little noisy til 9.00pm And do not think of eating at the Grand Hotel in Kiama! Certainly enjoy Olive and Vine!

Expensive for what you get

We paid $310 for one night’s stay. The room was small and cold. I couldn’t change the air conditioner from cool to heating. There is only one mirror in the bathroom - no full length mirror or other mirror in the room. There isn’t a wardrobe either to hang clothes - only hooks on the wall.

Bellevue Accommodation

Bellevue self-contained apartments are located right in the heart of Kiama. The original Bellevue was built around 1890. Extensions including bay windows were added in 1910 and in the early 1930-40s the building was transformed into guest house accommodation. It remained that way until April 2000 when it was extensively renovated to create the impressive structure we see today. Today this spectacular building houses six individually designed contemporary apartments, freshly renovated and refurbished at the beginning of 2018.

Cosy home away from home

Reviewed By itsumee

This is our second stay at the Bellevue. We didn’t even hesitate where to book when we decided to revisit Kiama. The Bellevue is the perfect home away from home. The apartments have a full kitchen, and generous living and dining areas. The bedroom is a little small and could do with a bit more storage as does the bathroom where we struggled to find space for our toiletries but overall that didn’t detract from our experience. It’s in the perfect location from the centre of Kiama, a short stroll to anywhere but far away enough to still have privacy and quiet. The furniture is tasteful and comfy, we really look forward to coming back each night after exploring Kiama. Keyless entry and easy contactless checkin makes everything a breeze as is the ease of on site parking. Owners are always a quick email / text message away with any queries.

We spent 4 nights here and this is definitely the place to stay if you are looking for a romantic getaway. Exceptionally clean and high quality, it surpasses all expectations. Open the double sliding doors and you have not only the sun basking in your room, but a wonderful view of the ocean. The balcony is a joy to have a drink in the late afternoon. The facilities are second to none, and the breakfast provided is excellent. The hosts are very nice and helpful, and do not intrude on your privacy. Shutters by the Sea is a fantastic experience to enjoy if you are coming to Kiama for a holiday and we recommend them most whole heartedly.

The Grand Hotel

Great venue for a refreshing ale and GREAT dining experience

Reviewed By E11RKmatthewh

We were visiting Kiama to watch a live outdoor concert and booked our apartment close to the supposed venue. We arrived conducted a walking tour of Kiama CBD in search of a restaurant and possibly a cold beer. The Grand Hotel was selected for the beer as it was only 100 metres from our accommodation. We had a drink discussed restaurant options and then thought we would have a look at the pubs menu. It looked good and not like ordinary pub grub so we booked a table. I ordered a fillet steak and my wife the prawn dish. Both were sublime. We ended up not going to our concert the next day due to the persistent rain and as such needed some where to eat that night. Once again the Grand Hotel was selected and we both had different meals and once again they were great. We got talking to one of the staff and he said if you ever come again try the Lamb Shoulder for 2. He has it when he brings his mother to the pub for a meal. After our meal we thought we would check out the live band that was playing. My wife said just one song but we ended up staying till closing as the band was so good. They are called The Water Runners and we will go and see them again if the opportunity arises. On our third night out we both agreed that we had to try the Lamb Shoulder for 2. Sensational!!!! On the Thursday night before we arrived in Kiama we had attended a fine dining restaurant at another Tourist town and whilst it was lovely the Meals at the Grand Hotel were just as good if not better. I must mention the manager and staff at the pub. They were all super friendly, welcoming and efficient. You expect this but they truly went above and beyond and complimented the venue and dining experience. You must include the Grand Hotel in your dining and cold drink plans next time you visit Kiama. We certainly will!!!

Cleaners need to be reviewed

Reviewed By I4771EEsharonf

Nice location but no view from unit 4. The main area of the unit is fairly clean. But cleaning elsewhere need immediate attention. The only frypan provided looks like it hasn’t been washed for ages. The bathroom is dirty . Soup scrum on the shelf , dirty floors, and the vent has a dust buildup that would render it useless.
