The Parador rises up on the original Hospital of St. John the Baptist and the Colegio de los Infantes , artistic historical buildings from the 15th century. A passing home for pilgrins and soldiers, in 1965 it adopted this objetive for the Network of Paradors.The eye-catching orchard which constitutes the garden its secluded swimming pool, colonnades and White walls , are in harmony with the spacious romos of the interior, the bedrooms of which recall the religious function of its origins. The capacity is precisely one of the fundamental attractions which the Guadalupe,Altamira and Mirabel romos reflect; although the wooden terraces, balconies and courtyard with portico reflect the quietness of its appearance. The simple local cooking is delicious, with representative dishes such as "bacaloa monacal" (cod, potatoes and spinach), "ajo blanco extremeno" (cold garlic soup), "migas extremenas" (fried breadcrumbs), "pollo a lo padre Pedro"(chiken),Iberian sausages, lamb stew, chestnut pudding and "muegado de Guadalupe"(fried sweet).

Reviewed By FPWhitePlainsAn unexpected pearl of Spanish architecture. The courtyard of orange and lemon trees was a wonder for the senses of sight and smell. Ripe fruit of bright orange and yellow with white blooms perfuming thé air with neroli. Corridors with remnants of former convent. Romantic frescoes including Franciscan priors pearing into the night. I was fortunate to have a suite that over looked the Spanish garden complète with a long rectangular pool whose sides were covered in blue, yellow and white azuelos. I felt like I was in the palace of a moorish prince.

Alba Taruta is one of the best little hotels we have stayed in - traditionally furnished, comfortable, welcoming including dog treats, lovely bathroom and toiletries and a tiny balcony to sit on and look at the mountains

An extraordinary place to stay
Reviewed By vschlatterWhat an experience to stay in a monastery! Huge room and bathroom and every corner of this beautiful building is oozing with history. Right in the centre of the town, it is a few steps walk to restaurants and bars, and easy to park right outside the entrance to the hotel. Do not stay anywhere else if visiting Guadalupe!

Hispanidad ** Hotel is located in the center of the town of Guadalupe, a few meters from the Royal Monastery, a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1993. In the natural environment Geopark Villuercas-Ibores-Jara. We offer 35 spacious and bright rooms with air conditioning, bathroom, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, most of them have a small balcony and views. The Hotel is easily accessible from the street and inside lift and wide corridors. We have a social lounge and a small biblioteca.Ofrece service Bar and Restaurant. Private parking area with limited seating.

Reviewed By carmelos445This small hotel is centrally located near the Real Monasterio of Guadalupe, an small town, one of the most important areas of the city. Near the shops and restaurants. The food and service as a whole was good. The rooms were small, the beds twin size and the elevators were small with the capacity for 4 people. We were a family of four with a group of more than 35 people and most of them enjoyed the time. Good to stay for 1 or 2 nights.

Excellent apartments
Reviewed By Damo777I stayed here for 1 night in late September whilst on a motorcycle tour with friends in Spain and Portugal, these apartments are really well equipped and finished to a high standard, the village centre is only a couple of minutes walk away, where you will find a number of restaurants, my only regret was that we didn’t stay for longer, the surrounding countryside is beautiful, I would certainly stay here again.

Welcoming central location
Reviewed By Ben YWarm and friendly setup, less than a minute from the monastery. West-facing rooms have breathtaking vistas towards Villuercas and the Pozo de las Nieves. Staff very cheery and accommodating. Lack of soundproofing in rooms is hardly the greatest of concerns in a pilgrim's retreat. I'd be back in a heartbeat.

Average place, great location
Reviewed By Louise FWe turned up in Guadalupe late on a Friday afternoon and Lund very little availability in the town so settled for this. The plus point was that we could choose the room and picked the one with small balcony, overlooking the front of the monastery, which was great. Room was fine for the money although not happy when I discovered it would have been cheaper if I'd picked online. Had a fun dinner in the restaurant upstairs but felt overcharged when we paid the next morning - 10 euros for very basic salad starter for 2, and a couple of euros for the bread which we didn't even want or request as gluten free. Wine at the bar afterwards was good though!
