Reviewed By MittenGirl33Bathroom drains did not work. Sink plunger in down position. Brushing teeth with 5 inches undrained water. Standing in ankle deep dirty shower water. Told this was normal by maintenance. We were not offered a room exchange. No one for 2 days came to make beds, offer clean towels, etc. No instruction from front desk as to how cleaning service worked but we saw them in the hall daily. Had to argue with check in and check out clerks who first gave us wrong room, then insisted we were in a different room when checking out. Nice facility but very disappointing for a Hilton.

Reviewed By dsulli01Spouse & I stayed 4 nights. All staff members were friendly, helpful and courteous. We booked too late to get a first-floor room. Comfort Suites staff put us on the east side of the second floor (of the three-floor building.) Our room was very close to the elevator, but far enough away that we weren't disturbed by associated noise. It was easily the largest room we've ever booked and easily accommodated the two queen-sized beds & sleeper sofa. The AC wall unit at the window worked fine. All the customary complimentary amenities were easily accessed. The hair dryer worked fine once it was moved to a live electrical outlet nearby. The tiny working deck outside the window contained a couple of micro-wave antennae. (We failed to bring protective our aluminum-foil hats.) The window could be slid open from inside for fresh air and had a stick to ensure it wasn't opened from the outside. Downsides: The four clothes hangers in the closet were traditional "hooked" devices. (Tip: bring along extra.) When the TV was off we could hear muffled footsteps above us. Our view was mainly the south end of an enormous Wal-Mart parking lot. The curtains did a fairly adequate job of blocking the lot's daylight-level illumination at night, as well as from the sunrise. The only ice-dispensing machine is on the first floor toward the end of the hall. Comfort Suites' policy on multiple-night stays is to only clean on the third day - unless requested otherwise. We didn't request anything special, but our room was cleaned & replenished every day. The only negative was housekeeping removed some stinky cheese we'd left out after our first night. Free breakfast was decent, with a pretty good selection of hot and cold items. Pool was popular, yet clean.

Worst hotel ever!!!!

For example, torn and tattered couches upon entering the lobby, filthy carpets stained with who knows what for who knows how long. Extra furniture piled up in the hallways, old lamps and other pieces of decor laying around in the hallway. It felt like you were in some kind of horror movie. Now to the rooms, FILTHY! Stained bedspreads, pillow cases with FRESH makeup left on them, sheets with stains, old, worn out stained pillows, fingerprints all over the headboards, hair left along the shower walls, hair and stains on just about every single towel or washcloth you tried to use.... the ice bucket had stains as well, inside and out. So you know nothing had been washed, cleaned, or even remotely sanitized. The place was dark and gave you an overall feeling of fear of catching a disease or a parasitic bug. Words of advice, drive the extra miles to the next town and find a hotel worth staying in. Anything would be better than this place.

Very reasonable rate from one of the travel sites, nice room, large suite with king bed, kitchen, 2 burner electric stove, microwave, toaster oven, full size refrigerator, selection of dishes, pans and utensils, small dishwasher. Would be great for a more extended stay or small family! Convenient location for anything in Grand Rapids, across from Rivertown Crossings mall. Clean, service was friendly, and they even helped me arrange shipping for an item accidentally left behind! We would recommend it and would definitely stay again!

Stacia, at the front desk, was literally the best front desk person we have ever encountered at a hotel -- friendly, helpful, professional. The room was spacious and well laid out. The mattress was good quality. The breakfast choices were better than most places. It was a terrific place to spend 4 evenings as we attended a nearby sporting event.

Reviewed By samY1738NWAs a Titanium Elite member, I have stayed at many Marriott properties over the years and this experience was so horrible we checked out shortly after checking in (something I have never done before). The smell of the hotel wreaked of marijuana outside, in the elevator area, throughout our hallway, and in our room at times. We tried to air out the room but it was so bad that we decided to checkout. The staff member at the front desk was very apologetic. We drove across town to another hotel. There are many other hotels in the Grand Rapids area that are much nicer so I would not recommend this hotel.
