A First Class Affordable Dive Resort

We stayed in an updated 1 bedroom apt at the resort. Everything was new and clean, I only wish there were more tables in the place, apt #4, it had ONLY 1 small dining table. But the AC was awesome and kitchen amenities perfect. We enjoyed cocktails by the pool and sunsets on the resort's beach. Extremely friendly resort and dive staff, Shout out to the boat crews, they were awesome. We're already talking about returning there. Late May was a tricky month to go for diving, a weather system eliminated a couple of our dive days, but glad to know Amoray played it safe with the dive conditions.

A Gem In Key Largo

Reviewed By 375kristyl

My husband and I visited Kona Kai while Key hopping for our 25th wedding anniversary in May. This is the cutest little resort ever and the staff is the friendliest we've encountered. They are so kind and gave us lots of suggestions for restaurants and made our reservations for us. The resort is quiet and tranquil. The garden is beautiful and beach is private. The pool is small, but nice and there are shady areas to relax in. Grab a book and read in the hammock on the beach. Rooms are like small apartments with a living area and full kitchen. This worked great for us as he's a morning person and I'm a night owl. Highly recommend doing a jet sky tour while you're there. The island is beautiful and by water is a great way to take it all in. If you are looking for a quaint little resort with super friendly staff, Kona Kai is the place for you.

Florida Nostalgia

Florida nostalgia without the mildew smell! We stayed in the Dolphin and greatly appreciated the water view and the supper clean room. We’ve been visiting south Florida for 30 years and this place is a great mix of comfort with “years gone by.” If you want a typical hotel experience, go somewhere else. Also, if you want to bicker about a clearly outlined cancellation policy, go somewhere else. If you want personal/on the water, old school Florida, this is it. By example, when we missed our opportunity to take pictures of the sunset, Rick at the front desk sent us some of his professional level photos to remember it by.

Short visit for relaxation, great spot!

Very nice place to relax. I was in the Hidesway cabin and it was perfect for me. The resort was centrally located and easy to find. The grounds were immaculate. The cabin had everything I needed and was also spotless and kept clean. Breakfast items were available every day and included in the price. Restaurants were located within walking distance. Had a beach area but mainly just to step in and cool off your feet. A dock was their also with chairs so you could relax, read, or just gaze at the sunset and view the boats. Would go back again.

Do NOT make a reservation here if you plans are going to change

Reviewed By paulahY9940OE

I booked 2 nights at the Rock Reef Resort in Key Largo. Unfortunately I had to change the first date and the second date in March was nearly $200 more expensive. My grandson became ill while we were in Florida and we had to return to Wisconsin early. When I contacted the manager about a possible refund of some sort I was told to provide a Dr. note and email them after many phone calls. Despite my pleas they are not going to give me a refund of any sorts despite doing everything they requested. This has been a very disappointing experience through both booking.com and the resort. I will not recommend them if they cannot help with uncontrollable circumstances. I did note that the the confirmation said no refunds but I did not have any problem getting a refund in situations of sickness...especially of an 11 year old grandson. The other places we planned to visit were all very understanding and produced immediate refunds.

Outstanding hotel in Key Largo!

Absolutely amazing conversion of a classic motel into a modern hotel with great staff and amenities. Our room was comfortable, well decorated, and exceptionally clean. We met two staff who were both kind, knowledgeable, and had great personalities. The property is full of wildlife, from iguanas and squirrels on land to barracuda, nurse sharks, needle fish and lots of tropical fish just off the hotel pier. Snorkeling and stand up paddle boarding are right off the hotel pier, included with the stay, and exceptional. We will definitely be back!

Azul Del Mar

As you enter the grounds of Azul del Mar Key Largo, you are greeted by a lush paradise with sweeping lawns that melt right into the water. Shafts of sunlight streak through the green canopy, a soothing, natural light that dances around the shaded gardens. And just beyond the tall mahoganies and gumbo limbos is an impressive art deco villa, divided into six elegant guest suites.

Disappointing stay.

Floors cracked, walls cracked. No pool or beach on premises. Could use a pool to sister hotel next lot, walk on gravel path Resort photos deceiving. Would not book again.

Deplorable service at front desk / reservations

Reviewed By 471andreiv

This part of a letter I wrote to the general manager about the deplorable staff at this luxury resort (nightly lowest price $499): Sir / Madam; I called your hotel to see why I still have the reservation made and then cancelled through Booking.com few days ago. Julio at the front desk answered the phone (without introducing himself). I told him that the reservation he found was not a valid one but he insisted on a rather arrogant tone that the reservation was valid and I needed to cancel it through Booking.com. Looking in another database at my insistance he found out that the reservation had been indeed cancelled. Both his tone, demeanor and his lack of knowledge was frustrating. It was not at all what I would have expected from a service representative working the front desk at a luxury establishment. I asked to talk with a manager and be transferred to that person. Instead, he hung up unceremoniously. I know that the hospitality industry suffers of a shortage of labor. However, I am under the impression that Julio does not have the demeanor, impuls control and skills to work with the public. So much less to be the front desk person at Bahia Bay Hotel. Regards, Andrei Vermont
