Little paradise in a serene area of France

We rented/ hired ebikes in Foix and biked along the Voie Verte to Saint Girons. For the return trip we booked a night at Domaine Terrac and it was the most relaxing stay of our 2-week vacation. The property is extremely well appointed and you can tell they sparred no expense turning the place in to a 5-star B&B. Barry and Jocelyn treated us like family when we arrived. We opted for the 3 course dinner which was one of the best of our trip. They offered winery direct wines at a fair price as well as some delicious craft beers. We also chose the sauna option which was great after a long day of biking. Overall an 11/10 stay. Thanks Barry and Jocelyn! We will be sending friends your way!

A chateau that literally creaks with history

I really enjoyed my stay here but it must be remembered that this is a grand old building so it is a bit "twisty turny" with stairs and alcoves a plenty. The room was large and spotless (as it would be expected) and I'd stay here again on my next visit to St Girons

Beautiful location

Positives - The property and accommodation is beautiful. The grounds (landscaping/gardens) beautifully manicured. Lovely pool (didn’t use). Hosts lovely (limited English, however we managed). We stayed in the green double room. Biggest bed we have ever slept in. Nice and comfy too. Big towels. Authentic ancient building with original features. Negative (only one) - Breakfast was disappointing . Small yoghurt, little bit of choppped pineapple, juice, bread (not very fresh) and jams. We felt added fruit would have been nice or fresh bread from the bakery 3klms away. Although we gave one negative comment, we would still return.

OK. But no food available out of season

Reviewed By Alan O

Stayed in the hotel part, and should have camped really. The room is simple and clean with comfy twin beds . Shower and heating available, but no food , not even a basic breakfast, which is not pointed out when booking. Saint Girons is not the easiest place to find food , but it is a great jump-off point for motorcycling the French Pyrenees.

Hotel Eychenne

In the middle of the Pyrenean Mountains, in the heart of the Natural Park, one minute away from downtown Saint-Girons, the Hotel & Restaurant Eychenne welcomes you with lots of smile in a cosy atmosphere. All our clients are always surprised when they discover our hotel. We are located in a small street of Saint Girons, just next to downtown. Our facade is charming, but doesn't let people guess all the space we have to offer until they come in. At the entrance, in the hall and at the reception, everything is subject to photographs. One step inside, and people can feel like they are just travelling in time, apealed to an old style french hotel, very traditional, but with all the comfort of modernity... with more than 4000m2 of facilities!

Very nice and luxurious

Authentic and charming hotel in old french style, in the heart of the natural park and the Pyrenean Mountains. Red velvet carpets and red walls, even the staircase is grand. Only a few minutes walk from the city centre and "old" town with nice old houses near the river, and close to several different restaurants. Nice athmosphere and clean, and the beds and duvet were very good! The breakfast splendid and varied, something for all. They have a bar, but we had to ask in the reception to find someone to serve us, mostly wine, few types of beer. Lovely outdoor area with patio and a nice swimming pool. We were there on a motorcycle holiday in September in bad weather, so we din't try it. They have parking space and lock the gate at night, so your car or motorcycle is safe. We had a very nice room with a large bathroom with both a bathtub and shover, and our own balcony. The staff are helpful and friendly. It is a lot to see (castles) and do (walking, biking, nice MC roads) in the area.

A welcoming refuge

Reviewed By Richard P

I was walking the Voie Piemont-Pyreneen and unintentionally found myself walking into St. Girons shortly before sundown with no place to stay for the night. I asked several folks on the street if there was a hotel in town but all said no. Then I stopped into a real estate office and asked a fellow behind a desk and he said there is a Chambres d'hotes just up the road and he quickly looked it up on the internet and called - there was one room left. I'll take it, I said. The owners have taken an old home and created a lovely chambre d'hotes for travelers to relax in. The breakfast in the morning is a highlight as well. I highly recommend this place.
