Horrid dungeon-like room!
Reviewed By Beata CThe only positive feedback I have about this establishment is that they were courteous enough to change my reservation date free of charge after I mistakenly booked for the wrong day. The room we stayed in was terribly warn, old and scruffy. We stayed in the Acquella building on the ground floor. The rooms on the right hand side have a view on the mountains therefore don’t feel as dungeony and unpleasant, unfortunately our room was in the left hand side and looked on the a rock face and hill. There was a small separate room in the apartment with two single beds, but the main sleeping area has a sofa bed and no comfortable double bed in sight. Bathroom drain stank, shower had mold and you could hardly swing a cat in the space. I could not fin a light on the ‘so called’ terrace with the rock face view so we had to sit out with our phones for a flash light. Breakfast lady was rude. After a four day trip in Valais staying in various establishments, this was by far the worst experience and ultimately a sleepless night. For a charge of 260chf a night this was just outrageous!

Outrageously overpriced

Came to Ovronnaz for a quick overnight stay with my husband. I go to the thermal baths hotel which is completely booked but the staff there told us that a room was available at the Hostellerie de l'Ardeve for $350/night. I thought that sounded a bit expensive but was assured that the rooms were magnificent and romantic - that it was a really special place. So I decided to go over my budget and splurge. When I arrive I find a small, no frills hotel room - nothing romantic or at all special and certainly not worth such an outrageous price. In the morning I see other guests vacating their rooms, all of which are at least double the size with beautiful windows looking out over the amazing views. It almost seemed as if the hotel knew I got an inferior room as at check-in the receptionists seem to exchange a look when they saw I would be in room 104. I felt so ripped off it almost ruined my entire weekend. This is a good hotel for $150 (in fact if that was what I had paid this would be a 4-star review) but it is absolutely not a $350/night hotel.
