9 Condos in Perdido Key: Best hotel deals for 2023

April 20, 2023 Nicolette Lion

Perdido Key, which means “Lost Key” in Spanish is a narrow strip of white beaches and aquamarine waters where beachcombing, fishing and sailing are ways of life not just recreation choices. Perdido Key’s unspoiled beaches are the island’s main attractions. Undulating wind built sand dunes are dotted with sea oats, bunch grass and beach grass. Venture to the eastern end of the island to the Gulf Islands National Seashore where swimming, snorkeling, fishing, boating, bird watching and hiking are popular pastimes. Tee time, anyone? Two exceptional golf courses are easily accessible, the Perdido Bay Golf Club, a links style course, and Lost Key, a target-style design fashioned by Arnold Palmer designated as an Audubon Signature Cooperative Sanctuary golf course. Other preferred activities on Perdido Key include dolphin watching excursions, moonlight cruises and sailing tours. Perdido Key is also known for its out-of-the-ordinary celebrations such as the New Year’s Polar Bear Dip and the Interstate Mullet Toss. For a non-stop celebration, drop by the legendary Flora-Bama Lounge on Perdido Key, a beachside oyster bar, beach bar and Gulf Coast cultural landmark. Pensacola is located only 15 miles from Perdido Key offering a wealth of day trip options to attractions like Historic Pensacola Village, the National Museum of Naval Aviation, Pensacola Lighthouse and Museum and Fort Pickens, a fort built in 1834 and once occupied by federal troops during the Civil War.

Location is good and it is quiet. We stayed in building one. Unit is ok for a vacation rental. We are beach people and beach service is terrible. For so few people that are using it it should be outstanding.

Terrible service, filthy, moldy unit

Reviewed By jlJ4304IN

As someone else said, MOLD is present in this complex (see photos). Even if it hasn't grown to be visible in your unit, it's in the HVAC system, so it's blowing through your unit and everyone else's. The whole unit was poorly cleaned, as you can see. Oven cleaner not wiped up, hair and greasy dust on oven door, scale around faucets, splashed cleaner on backsplash and light switch, and MOLD all over the entire AC/heat register. The patio was not swept and porch lights were broken. Windows were so filthy we literally could not see through some of them. Absolutely gross. Customer service is as bad as the dangerously dirty unit. Told desk staff about issues and they repeatedly said they'd send someone up to clean. We were told that someone came while we were out and supposedly wiped outside windows, but there was zero evidence of this--no change. We repeatedly asked about getting a key to lock the gate to our unit and they never got back to us. Staff was unresponsive and aloof, and didn't inquire about how our stay was when we checked out. After our stay, we sent a detailed letter to the general manager complaining about the lack of cleaning, including the MOLD that we breathed in for a week, asking for partial refund. Never heard a word back. If you get a clean and updated unit, you still have horrible staff / customer service -- especially a problem if something comes up. If I were you, I'd look elsewhere.

No cable, they will only give you passes for 2 vehicles to go through the gate. So make sure you dont have 3 vehicles. The amenities that are supposed to be here most of them aren’t. The beaches close at 9:00 and its not worth what i paid to stay in this place.

Nicest condo we’ve ever stayed in

Reviewed By poodlecoast

Loved everything about this condo. Everything you could ask for, the condo had! There were 9 of us in unit 304 and it was more than enough room. We loved that there were huge TVs with Netflix capability on all of them. The only recommendation I would give would be the pool area to have a snack bar. There’s plenty of room over by the lap pool. We weren’t too pleased with the water color in Perdido Key, but they could have been because of storms.

So much fun!

Reviewed By Donna W

We stayed in unit 12A and it was perfect! You can see the pool and tiki bar from the windows and it’s less than a minute walk from the bottom of the stairs! The indoor pool and hot tub are right across the parking lot from this unit. There is music and a great atmosphere around the pool in the early evening, but it stops promptly at 10 pm. and is very quiet at night. If you want to visit the beach, it’s about a 2 minute drive to Johnson’s Beach. This condo was very clean and had a great kitchen with all the pots, pans and appliances you need for cooking. The coolest thing about this unit had to have been the Ms Pac Man machine! We had a blast and will definitely request 12A again on our next trip to the Purple Parrot!

This condo is better than a hotel having a full kitchen, And washer dryer right there but it needs some updating. Overall for the price we paid it was fine But I wish there’d been better cleaning and attention to detail. Dishwasher was broke when we arrived. I loaded it up with our to go cups and some packed food containers from our 13 hour drive and tried to turn it on and then realized... the next 4 days momma was doing dishes by hand. ? The washer worked well but oh the frustration of the dryer... a small load of light weight shorts and swim suits would take about 2 hours to dry but 4 beach towels more like 3hours. Frustrating! Also no hair dryer. ? so... frizzy hair for 3 days. The master bedroom has a window with blinds and too thin curtains so the hall light outside shone in at night as well as the couch which makes out into a bed - no ? in the morning because the sunshine streams right through the blinds and sheer curtains. When we checked in there was only one role of toilet paper and sand in the tub. We went straight to the store for bleach bathroom cleaner and sprayed down the shower liner to remove the Mold spots... so it could have been better maintained and the cheap wall decor rattled every time the air conditioner was on so we took it all down and put it back up when we left. We would stay again for the price and convenient beach access etc but I’d arrive knowing I’d have to wash dishes instead of using the advertised dishwasher and I’d have brought cleaner and a blow dryer.
