Reviewed By Grandview301Clean, comfortable room with the added advantage of being able to park directly out front and undercover. As others have said, Gail is a delight to deal with. Pam was at the helm when we arrived and equally warm and friendly as Gail. We dined in at Curry On In Wyalong (on site). After communicating with Monica via Facebook re my dietary requirements it was pleasing Curry On In Wyalong had many gluten free options to choose from. Young Sarah was our waitress and she was a delight to have met.

Lovely old country pub
Reviewed By Lynne HWe were on a road trip and caught up with some friends for lunch here. We all had the beer battered flathead and chips and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The friendly staff gave us excellent service and we loved the decor, including all the old photos and the interesting bar. Highly recommend for a lunch stop!

Reviewed By 2015LPCheck in was fantastic due to a late night, rooms are very nice and clean. The outside is nothing but when you walk inside a different feeling. We had a car issue on the morning of check out and the owner was very obliging.

Reviewed By msmariafranklinCan't complain about the location, or the facilities, except, perhaps, if you don't like stairs or have a more generally-held understanding of the meaning of the term "continental breakfast". I arrived after a long-day's drive through outback areas where mobile coverage was patchy. Eventually I received a message that Mentor Chambers had double-booked and I would be unable to stay in the room I had reserved and received confirmation for some days earlier. Mentor Chambers arranged for my stay for one night in a house 1km outside the main part of town. (One of the reasons I'd booked the accommodation was because it was in town.) I don't know who was to blame for the double booking. It's the first time I've experienced an upset of this kind.) After a night in the house where I was told I could be accommodated, and a "continental breakfast" of a commercially-sold muesli which had been decanted into a plastic container and left in a kitchen cupboard, I was eventually able to access the room I'd reserved and paid for, on Main Street. As I was resting in my room in the location I had booked, the proprietor of the Mentor Chambers Apartment Bed & Breakfast and of the Paragon Cafe next door, walked into my room, the door of which I'd left open to get more air as the day was becoming muggy. she entered my room, uninvited, and proceeded to tell me that neither she, nor her family were vaccinated, and she would not have a COVID test, because the swab was pushed too close to the brain. Then I realised why they had not checked my COVID vaccination certificate, unlike all the other businesses in town. Then I realised that the other people who were staying in the same accommodation, as well as the people cleaning, and those who were providing something more substantial than what they chose to understand as a "continental breakfast" in the Paragon Cafe next door, may not have been vaccinated against COVID-19. If I had known about the anti-vaxxer opinions of the proprietor when I was booking, I would have chosen another accommodation in town, one safer for and those I want to protect from infection with COVID-19.

Some may have read my review of my accommodations in Moree, NSW, for last night, 17 March! There is absolutely no comparison. Whereas the “Spa” accommodation was very Spartan and well over priced - the Acacia Golden Way Motel here in West Wyalong, is absolutely superb and well fulfils every need for a weary traveler. At 75, I’ve done a bit of travelling and stayed in lots of motels all over Australia, and this one is up there with the best, at a very reasonable price - especially for those on a limited budget! All the amenities are in good order and work as you’d expect, while the beds and facilities are very inviting - while always the best is the warm welcome from the owners. If you are travelling the Newell Highway, be sure to spend some time at the Acacia Golden Way Motel, West Wyalong! Like me - you’ll be glad you did!

Reviewed By Kyliemel2Country hospitality was not on show here. Everyone has a bad day so we’re prepared to be generous and put it down to that. Check in slow - waited 20 mins. No information about the room or amenities. The room itself was basic but comfortable. WiFi didn’t work, TV had sound but no picture. We asked about this and were greeted with an eye roll and sigh - as though we were asking too much. Asked for directions to a local restaurant and received a grumpy ‘you should be dining here’. Well if we knew there was a restaurant on site we may have! Overheard neighbouring rooms complaining about noise and no WiFi so we weren’t the only ones. Shower had hot water only.

On arrival into my chosen room it looked dirty, smells musty, mould on walls in the bathroom, no mattress protectors, and when I asked for one, I was given a stained one. HIs comment, "its looks dirty but is clean". A real gem!!!!!!!!!!

Reviewed By matthewwN4450KCStayed over a weekend staff were super friendly, helpful and accommodating. Courtesy bus to the white tank hotel makes like easy, and the food there was amazing. Rooms are nice and clean and plenty of space in. Overall super happy and would stay again
