Not great!!

Reviewed By Pete D

Booked as needed somewhere near the airport-check in is in the restaurant, then was led through pitch black corridors to the room. Room was small, uncomfortable, sheets and blankets didn't look particularly clean and the shower head was hanging off so had to hold it up whilst showering. Fridge in room was noisy so had to turn it off, and struggled to sleep because of the guy snoring next door-noise is terrible. The area isn't bad but if you do go there, eat at the bar over the road to the right-staff and food there lovely. In summary-stay here is you need to be at the airport early and just need to get your head down-but if you are thinking of booking this for a holiday-THINK AGAIN!! Paid 50 euros-it was about forty euros overpriced....

Due to Covid, could not travel. Owner refused refund

Reviewed By Roxannerandel

The owner is rude, threatening, and took £155 from me even though i could not travel due to Covid. When asking about rebooking new dates, she asked for far too much ontop of what i already paid. I can get Peurto Banus resort for what she asked of me. I asked for refund. She refused. She kept my money, provided no service, fought with me on WhatsApp how she had every right to steal my money. Be warned. Treating customers like this during a pandemic will surely result in future business struggles. All about ethics. She can say what she wants, but fact remains, she took my money, i got nothing. She is wrong. Period

Excellent!

Reviewed By ChouquetteOnTheRoad

I chose this pension specifically for the 24h check-in (due to late arrival flight), the wifi and the parking space (for the rental car). The place is a bit far from Malaga (further than I imagined), but it is great for for its quiet aspect. The guy who received us in the middle of the night was very nice and helpful. My husband had to work from his laptop and the plug adapter (for UK connection) we had wouldn't fit so he managed to find us one. He offered us two cans (beer and Coke). We asked for the breakfast and for only 3€/person, we were so happily surprised! We had a gargantuan meal with fruits, juices, hot drinks, cereals, toasts, cheese and even donuts! The room was big with a separate desk part (great in my case so I could go to sleep while my husband was still working), very clean, the bed was a bit hard but comfortable enough. The bathroom was newly refurbished and it was really pleasant. The boiler is small so if you fancy long hot showers it might be a bit tricky, but it heats up again directly after use (not on timer, or once a day). The checkout was supposed to be done by 11:00 but as we arrived very late we dragged for breakfast and left the room around 11:30 without any complaint from the staff. It was a great little stay in a pension I would definitely recommend!

Ok place for one night

Reviewed By Delrey007

We stayed in this place only one night cause of flight we took from Malaga. We took one room, it was clean, had air conditioning and 2 windows, Tv didn't work properly cause of bad scart cable. Men on the reception (of the restaurant with the same name ) has spoken english ok and has gave us information for the coffee and walk in center of Malaga. We could take bus number 21, ticket is 1,5€ for one person in one way and bus drives app. 20 minutes, bus station is very near hotel, but we went by our rented car, it took us 5-7 minutes. Hotel has bad isolation in room like most of the hotels that we stayed in, one couple was in the next room to us, we have heard all words and all sounds so we had to pleased them to be little more quiet :-( The same situation was with the upper room (we stayed in room number 2 on first floor), every time the man has got up from bed and walked, we heard his steps?.

Owner failed to communicate but nice enough facilities

Reviewed By Natalie G

I suppose you get what you pay for. I would not recommend staying in this guest house unless you want to preemptively email the owner to figure out how to get in. 95% of our complaints stem from the lack of communication prior to our arrival. We wouldn't have known to ask for check in procedure in advance. This should just be provided. Prior to our visit we received no instructions on how to get in. Our Booking.com email just included a pin but no other information. Upon arrival, there was no sign on the door or instructions so we walked past it at first. After double checking the address, we knew we were at the right place. There was no one at the guesthouse, even though we were checking in after the 2 pm mark. We tried ringing the voice buzzer several times and no one answered. A French woman who was already a guest happened to arrive around the same time we did. She had keys, but she couldn't get in with hers. Together, we all waited outside while we spent money on data to pull up the old emails looking for the host's contact number. Then we had to pay for an international phone call to get in touch. Luckily she answered, but the PIN we received via email was incorrect. She gave us the correct PIN, and this was used to open a lockbox outside the guesthouse door which contained all incoming residents' keys. Once we got in, we used each of our three keys to open a different set of doors. We also were not told in advance what our room number would be, but luckily once we got in there were chalkboard signs on each bedroom door which had our name on it. The actual house is cute and well maintained. There are 3 or 4 bedrooms, and two shared bathrooms. There is a kitchen, washing machine, wifi, linens/towels, and a patio. However, my travel mate said when they went to shower one night there were two cockroaches in the bathroom. I never saw them during my morning showers or anywhere else in the house, though. I was not able to connect to the Wifi with my laptop, only my phone, even after running numerous diagnostics and restarting. We received no communication regarding how to check out of the guesthouse. We sent the host a message via WhatsApp, a number which was provided on an information sheet in our rooms, and it did not work for us. We had to email her to get instructions. She did offer to book us a cab for our departure, which she followed through with and the cab was there as promised.
