Chimborazo Lodge is placed in the historical Totorillas Valley where the old Tambo Totorillas used to host travelers over 500 years. This unique lodge is located at the foot of Chimborazo at 4000 m on the protected area of Chimborazo Reserve. The Historical “Tambo de Totorillas” (Roadside Inn) was once located in the valley, where Marco Cruz, famous Ecuadorian mountain climber rebuild a lodge to offer his guests a unique experience at the foot of Chimborazo and share his life adventures and vast knowledge of the mountains, nature, and human history. The lodge is decorated with photographs, engravings, and objects from the Alpine and History of mountains and the most important climbers of all times. Full of art and illustrations of the natural and Andean history of Chimborazo, each bedroom is named after a famous mountaineer, scientist or traveler from the XIX Century, that once visited this mountain. This welcoming lodge is a perfect place to rest, eat and acclimatize with great comfort and excellent services, all in the solitude and beauty of the mountain.
It is truly a magical place. The service is top and the staff very friendly. They speak several languages (spanish, german and english). One of the highlights is the opportunity to talk with the famous Marco Cruz. He is not only an incredible person, but he has a lot of stories, wisdom and knowledge. We went on several hikes from the reserve (they organize everything you need, from equipment to packed lunches). There are easy, moderate and difficult hikes, so you can quickly get used to the altitude. The experience with the llamas is wonderful, especially if you love to take pictures. Also incredible is the number of animal species (Chimborazo hummingbirds, deer, rabbits, alpacas, and more). The rooms are very comfortable. I love the fact that it is a mountain lodge, which is totally eco-friendly. You can see from the lodge the Chimborazo without even moving. And finally, the food is also super good: it is Ecuadorian food with an international touch. I recommend it to anyone who really wants to be inspired by nature and the great Chimborazo!

We have all-inclusive packages for one, two, three or more days, and also some outdoor activities such as mountain bike, camping and canopy. The inn is located 20 minutes from the famous Devil's Nose, an attractive of great importance in the history of Ecuadorian railroad, making it a visited place from tourist from all the world. The infrastructure of our restaurant and inn have a great historical prestige. It was built in 1908 by the company "Guayaquil & Quito Railwail Company" and was the home of the british Mr. Dobby who was the first General Manager of the railways in Ecuador.
Excellent service! Perfect for relaxing or going on adventures (there are a lot nearby). They help you with tours, tickets, transportation. The food is tasty, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. I’ll definitely go again

We initially chose Santval as a place to get away with our dogs over New Years. I’m not sure who enjoyed the weekend more — the dogs or us! The location is remote (we completely unplugged as there was no wifi in the rooms) and so beautiful - exactly what we wanted. The family owned Lodge run by Gonzalo, Mary & Luis plus the other amazing staff, Fransisco, Lenny and others went above and beyond to make our stay an enjoyable one! We really felt like we were family! The party they put on for New Years Eve was AMAZING! We can’t wait to return! Blessings Gonzalo, Mary & Luis! ? Karen, Jacquelyn Blake & Esther! ?

The sheets and inside white decor gave the place a refreshing ambiance. Went with a few friends for Carnaval. Low key, but a down side is that it is a 20 minute walk or ten minute cab ride to the center of Riobamba.

What a special place and staff. A converted hacienda-type building steps away from the railway station. Great breakfast and comfortable room. Jorge who works there is a sweet accommodating host who greeted is and ensured our comfort. El Molino is definitely a boutique experience. MuchasGracias gracias Jorge!
