Not what you’d expect in provincial Moz

Not a Bavarian castle as the name would suggest, but a quaint guesthouse in Tete. Nevertheless you feel like royalty here in this location, on the banks of mighty river Zambezi. Staff is super nice and helpful, and the rooms are generally of decent enough size. Our room, Rosemary, easily held four family members, each with one large suitcase. We really liked the eclectic mix of details in the decoration and furnishing of the room, and also the fact that we had our own router for fast Internet access. Small minuses for the hard mattresses and the lack of soap in the bathroom, Breakfast was great with both hot and cold options. They do not serve dinner, unless ordered in advance. But it’s a short walk over to the Southern Sun next door where they’ll gladly feed you.

Delicious Buffet Dinner

Reviewed By jaysoncoomer

We came for dinner with work colleagues, and then saw that there was a buffet on offer (a recent introduction, and apparently only available during the week - so we were fortunate with our timing)! There were so dishes to choose from - all delicious. It was great to find so many healthy alternatives (a salad bar, and an array of vegetarian options even). And better yet - no need to wait to be served, so we could eat and go quite quickly. Definitely a step up from what is normally available in Tete. Will be back.

Even worse

Yip, the recipe of this hotel was mistreating employees, even with lies, and Radisson who were running this is in itself a company full of lies and mismanagement, like they did here. Best of all is some of the lying Radisson liars stayed behind and stayed in management. No wonder if the department employing people is full of lies, then the personnel will also be... no wonder your service is the worst in Tete, not to mention the sub standard services you are offering. All thanks to Radisson...

NICE PLACE TO STAY IN TETE.

Reviewed By Murad B

Cleanliness, ambiance, friendly staff and food was perfect. Some minor improvement required to speed up the internet. However, the most important thing to improve was the English language as most of the staff wasn't able to understand or respond in English. The other problem I have faced was the change money. I have paid for my accommodation in US$ but they does not have the change to pay me either in US$ or in the local currency. They should leave some money in reserve for the responsible staff to entertain the customers.

Value for money

Look, at this price in Tete, it deserves a 4 /5 score. Clean beds, good aircon, what more do you need? Staff does not speak English, but that is why we have Google translate exists. Free wifi, they do offer breakfast included, but we did not have time. Not too crazy about where it is situated, but they have free save parking, so no worries. All in all, worth it.

A real paradox!

Reviewed By istanman

I have never written a review like this before. I really want to give this place 5 stars for a variety of reasons, but because of the ownership's lack of interest in the property, or lack of business knowledge, it is a 2 or 3 star hotel. The staff, (manager, housekeeping, cooks/servers and security guards) are doing the absolute best that they can under very difficult circumstances. I hope you will take time to read this entire review, because I want more people to stay at Hotel Natura Tete and then maybe the place can become what it was originally built to be. Lets start with the rooms. When originally built, the duplex cabins scattered about the complex must have been really nice, because the cabins that have actually been completed (there are several on the property that have been sitting only half complete for quite some time) are still very comfortable and still in pretty good repair. The furnishings are nice. Giant beds that are very comfortable. Big bathroom with running hot water, and tiled walk-in shower. Air conditioned, which keeps the mosquitoes away. Free wifi in your room if you ask for it. Daily housekeeping does a great job refreshing your room. The restaurant. (Reception is in the restaurant) Very nice facility in the center of the property, and the food was absolutely delicious. Complimentary breakfast cooked to order. A great chef/cook prepared our evening meals exactly as we requested, including amazing steaks cooked to perfection. Every food request was met. Servers struggled a bit, only because I don't speak Portuguese and they don't speak English. My problem, not theirs. The manager, Francesca, (speaks good English) bent over backwards to accommodate our every request and even our suggestions. If the owner would spend a little money to spruce up the grounds, and the buildings and even complete the unfinished cabins, this could easily become a 4 star hotel. How about a decent signboard at the entrance so passersby might actually know there is a hotel here. It sits well off the highway, which is great, because it is very quiet and with proper landscaping, even in the winter time, it would be a beautiful place. Big beautiful outdoor swimming pool that was in fact being refurbished while we were there for a week. Would loved to have hung out by the pool in the afternoon. I guess what I would really like to see, since discovering this hotel, would be for the owner to invest a little so that one might think he/she actually plans to keep it running. I'd be happy if it remains a 3 star hotel (that makes it more economical for me), and I will probably be a regular here on my trips to Tete because of the staff, the food and the price. It is just a shame the owner doesn't seem to have any real interest in owning and operating a hotel.
