Reviewed By nickpj2020The restaurant next door was wonderful and the room very clean. The main entrance was very cozy with knotty pine etc.. The Pool area looked great and the complimentary breakfast area was a hit with everyone.

The woman at the front desk was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. When I asked about local restaurants she had a printed sheet for me and two of the housekeepers gave me their recommendations as well. With the exception of an over flowing trash can this hotel is spotless. Could be the newness of it but it's well maintained. Room was fresh and clean. We even got to check in early which was nice since we'd been on the road. We will recommend and stay here again. Thanks for a great visit!

Great location; much less expensive than staying in Duluth (just a couple of miles away. ) Our only complaint is that the pool was absolutely freezing!!! A big disappointment to our children as they couldn’t tolerate it for long. It cut short their anticipated fun. We did speak to the front desk staff upon checking out and told that the pool temperature is set at the level their policy has set. That’s a policy that needs revision. We will not be returning until and/or unless this is addressed. Not a hotel for children or swimmers if that is part of your getaway plans. Otherwise, a very nice hotel.

Reviewed By steve yStayed at Barkers Island for a meeting. Room 128, VERY Substandard! Knob falling off dresser. The doors to the closet were warped and couldn't open! Water on the sink was backwards, cold and hot water reversed. To shut-off the water you had to push the center of faucet!!! Went to use pool/hot tub, and NO towels in the area?? Charged the same price for a single queen room as a king double? Went into the restaurant for breakfast, and got a cup of coffee in the lobby prior to going in. Was charged for the coffee?? An old tired hotel!!

Quiet hotel while driving through

The room was nice, the sheets were soft, but the bed was a little soft for me but then I sleep normally on a rock hard mattress. It was very quiet in that part of the hotel. I would certainly consider staying here again when I am in the area.

Reviewed By rdean8079This place cost $90 a night. Its old, tiles are cracked in the bathroom, Mexicans sitting on the sidewalk in front of their rooms playing music and drinking until 11pm. We didn't feel safe walking up to the motel, but everything else was booked. Save your money, go somewhere else.
