If youre looking for a place to chill, then this is the place. Great value for money, spacious rooms, nice view from your balcony. Good customer service. I hope they have a sandy beach though and not too far from the city. Still we loved our stay.

Excellent in my experience! with some provisos that may vex some

Reviewed By frankieh940

We had a highly enjoyable experience and wonderful meal here with friendly, effective and efficient happy staff. We also met the independent owner of this family hotel and he similarly had a nice personality. I suggest / hope you will be pleasantly surprised by all you find. It's pretty standard stuff but done very well. However I qualify this review now for the sake of others that might not share the enjoyment we felt in our experience. First app based location solutions may well suggest Mabini Street and that's incorrect as the Countess Pension House (as it seems to be known locally) is accessed from the Central Nautical Highway (to spare you the wild goose chase we had). 2nd the external facade is a little foreboding but don't worry unduly. 3rd and more critically: Quoted charge on booking.com included a 7% surcharge. At desk I was then requested a further 12% on that agreed rate! . Now I have since noted other reviews on Google mentioning this gouging practice. I decided to cough up rather than make a scene as it was a one-day&night birthday experience trip away from our City apartment for my partner, her son, her niece and I. I am a "the price is the price" kind of guy normally and also love to haggle a bargain and If money was tight I'd have walked but on reflection I'm happy to have coughed up as all-in-all I lefty feeling we'd all had good value. While I've commented that the hotel is beach (however this cannot be considered as a worthy destination in truth) front that's not strictly speaking true as it's a short walk away - care needed on the narrow undulating and obstructed pavements. However one can see the sea from both the room and the cafe / restaurant near the rooftop and the vista is lovely so long as you look to the horizon an not directly down. The beach itself is not great tbh and it let's down local businesses but it suited us fine as a one-day stopover. Many hawkers, that are little bother and many friendly locals. Next: Two sets of independent stairs: 1 to restaurant / cafe that also has an elevator and another to the rooms (a pain if you are going back and forth from one to the other up/down elevator and then walk to other side of the building through the lobby to the up/down narrow staircase.. The staircase to the rooms is narrow and rather steep so if you're using suitcases be warned access will be challenging. Next: Air-con system is highly effective but get's very cool in the night. Controls in the panel below. Next The shower (inside the wet-room) can be used from cold through hot due to the addition of an immersion type shower add-on that has three heat settings. The water is activated by a small rotational off/on device at the rear of the water tap in front. Whilst no bidet there is a hose fixed. The cafe is on the 4th floor. Walk out of the lift into small lobby and take a right through a glazed door. Work is ongoing in this open area but it does not hinder an enjoyable experience. It isn't immediately apparent but so you know the setup is: Take the menus to where you wish to seat, Choose what you want, order at the counter, pay there and then take your table number back with you to your table and when your food is ready your waiting staff will serve. Be warned the snacks are as described but the "Mains" are sharing sized meals fit to serve 2-5 persons! We ended up with a right table full! There is a very restricted range of alcohol but you may BYO at a cover charge of 50p per bottle. It's not cheap by usual Philippine comparisons but it is "extremely" great value / quality. We ate for about 500p per head but could have got away with half that if wanted. This is a stopover spot and not a holiday destination I suggest, but it truly is under rated at 2 stars but I noticed it's a work in progress and given the setup it's a good strategy. I certainly would recommend it if you're passing by. Footnotes: Wifi very good in restaurant, rooms and OK in lobby. Nice small TV in room No fridge or tea, coffee making facilities in rooms. The place is geared to coin from you but ain't that the same everywhere one goes these days. Enjoy.

Nice food and nice place to walk around

Reviewed By JakkMeoff

Food is very nice in there, the surrounding are ok even the place e look dated it's still the only decent place to stay in that area. Almost all resorts look dirty, overpriced and if they are run by foreigners, just forget it, full of drunkards, litter, dog poo and clouds of smoke from squatters burning all type of rubbish. Liloan itself resemble a crime area, rundown , poverty prostitution and all type of scammers. If you stay at this resort you will shelter yourself from the downsides of the village. Be careful at night time and don't trust anyone especially the locals.

Partez, passez votre chemin.
