Lovely hideaway in a Provençal village

We stayed here three days ago and were so pleased to have chosen to do so. We arrived late- travellers hiring cars at Nice airport coming with BA be aware that you may land at Terminal 1 but you have to get a shuttle bus to Terminal 2 to rent your car , all of which adds a good 3/4 hour, if nor more, to your journey- and the owner made us so welcome, despite having had to stay up till we arrived. The room was spotless and attractive with a view of the garden and we regretted not being there in the summer to enjoy it and the pool, which even in the winter looked blue and inviting! Breakfast in the vast quirky salon downstairs was excellent, croissants, pains au chocolat, pains au raisin, tartes aux pommes, fresh bread with home made jams and really good coffee- tea, too, of course, but I'm not back in France properly if the coffees' s not good! There's a large seating area- in summer out in the garden they have small musical soirées so there's a piano and guitar in a corner and there are interesting artefacts like local artists paintings and a coat stand with pretty hats alongside the piano all adding a bit of something different to the normal run of the mill breakfast rooms of B&Bs! You can come and go as you please as the door's always open and the village centre is two minutes away. Any complaints ? Only that there is no full length mirror in the bedroom and being vain I like to have that, but it's a minor point and the rest is great. Just great. Stay there and prove me right!

Fabulous Bed and Breakfast

What a beautiful place to stay . We had the most fantastic week here in the Lemon room. Fanny Salignac was the best host that you can imagine. Our room was extremely comfortable and cool during the recent heatwave in France. We had the use of pool any time we wished and the breakfasts that Fanny provided were exceptional. Fanny was also our travel guide and we would have missed out on some spectacular places if we hadn’t heeded the advice of our hostess. This was truly a lovely place to stay and if we are ever back in the South of France again we would go back.

First Visit to Provence

Reviewed By Dansji

We wanted to stay somewhere in the midst of Provence but away from touristy areas and this was perfect. Xavier and Florence greeted us at their beautiful B&B which is a renovated 17 century Abbey they have decorated very nicely with spacious rooms. A beautiful courtyard with gardens is where they serve you a generous French breakfast with coffee juice fresh croissants cheese, fruit and yogurt. There is a nice sitting room and billiard room as well to enjoy but we were too busy exploring Provence. Xavier and Florence provided excellent guidance to see the places and sites and we avoided crowds and were able to pack in a lot in our 4 days. Hope to return to Besse- Sur - Issole some day!

Perfect stay in a peaceful location

Reviewed By Dana B

We stayed for one week in this place and fully enjoyed it. The heated pool, the large outdoor spaces, including the tennis court and the two dinners we had there were excellent. As the place is a bit isolated it would be good to offer fridge in the rooms, to be able to store at least some basic food and drinks. The rooms are also very nicely decorated, with lots of space and excellent hygienic products. We only felt the pillows bit uncomfortable and causing lots of sweating, but maybe it was just us. The staff was also very kind and ready to help.
