An amazing holiday
Reviewed By StevenHigham26We stayed at the Ocean Bay Hotel for 10 nights in April. I have to say it was one of the best holidays ever. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens with direct access into a wide sandy beach. What really makes this hotel special are the employees. Everyone goes out of their way to help and are all friendly and efficient. The service offered is second to none. The rooms were clean and quiet with excellent air con. We stayed on an all inclusive basis and the food was plentiful and of a good quality. Already looking forward to a return trip.

Second visit to Gambia ??
Reviewed By samiab329This was my second trip to Gambia and I stayed in Roc Heights purely due to the fabulous staff, especially Omar who really went out of his way if I needed anything. All the staff are friendly, happy and ready to assist. The rooms are huge and clean. A few upgrades are needed as some fixtures have become worn and need changing. Breakfast is simple but Lamin makes excellent omelette. I prefer the location as it's away from main tourist hustle but only a 5 minute walk. The area is safe even for solo female travellers. The beach is just a few minutes walk and very clean. There are a few eateries and bars nearby, some serving traditional food. Benachin with fish is delicious. Do try the local dishes.

Reviewed By Kriz1973We (family with 1 daughter aged 11) had a great holiday at the sun beach hotel last February. Hotel service was good. Staff were very friendly and dedicated. I particularly want to mention Omar Jallo from the animation and Babucarr Barry from the hotel bar. They made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel is located on the beach. Lovely to lie there on a beach bed. The hotel food was good. Had a great week. We will come back again for sure.

THIEFS !! BE CAREFUL!
Reviewed By yannicku2013I celebrated my wedding in this hotel on 27th of April 2022 from 3pm to 11pm (cocktail+diner). Although the location is nice, the staff and direction are not honnest and not friendly at all. Cheating guests in wedding context is horrible and lack of respect beyond everything. Beyond the negotiated lump sum for the buffet, I agreed a payment for the drinks as per real consumption along the party and against a proper drinks bill a the end of the party. We discovered some days later that the bartender and some accomplices added on the bill various drinks that my guests never ordered. We claimed our money further this scandal but the Director never paid me back and told us a fake story to cover his staff members abuse. My smartphone has also been stolen this same night. Once again, even if the place is beautiful, doing business with such "Thiefs" is not recommended . My tour operator also cancelled all upcoming businesses with this hotel further this complete lack of honnesty (from bottom to top staff). In addition, observing a Director not taking any drastic measures is a true scandal. This last also tried several times during preparation phase to change our deals but thanks to our recored notes we were able to remind him what the agreements were. DO NOT GIVE ANY PENNY TO THIS HOTEL !

Gracious quiet in The Gambia
Reviewed By HamIAmMy wife and I lived in The Gambia for three years working for the U.S. government. When visiting dignitaries came, we lodged them at the Coconut Residence. New security regulations for diplomats have changed this practice in recent years, but when I go back, it's still where I stay. I don't need beaches. I don't need to see lots of beautiful (and not-so-beautiful) tourists. I want a quite, gracious place to come back to at the end of the day, where my room is quiet and comfortable, where the food is good, and the staff is attentive but not overly so. Is it perfect? I could quibble, I am sure, since this in The Gambia, not Majorca. But I have no hesitation in saying it is where I'll stay on my next visit.

Lovely accommodation - extremely clean and well equipped, the air conditioning in the bedrooms was very much appreciated and needed. Very comfortable rooms and cleaned every couple of days, by our lovely, friendly housekeeper - Fatou. Extremely knowledgeable and supportive owners, excellent communication and assistance throughout booking process and continuous support throughout our stay. Thank you Lamin and Amanda. Beautiful gardens, well kept by the gardener - Ishmael, who would present us with flowers every few days. All staff friendly and polite, nothing too much trouble. Thoroughly enjoyed our four week stay and was very sad to leave, but will definitely return in the future. Great to watch the work taking place , and when all is complete it will be even more amazing and beautiful. If you’re after relaxation, peace and tranquility then Bojang River Lodge is the perfect place to stay. Thank you Lamin and Amanda, you’re an inspirational couple who deserve all of life’s greatest blessings. I wish you all the best with your venture in the future . I can’t wait to return.
