Amazing value for our best stay of the trip

Reviewed By John L

Spending two weeks on the road cross country, this was far and away our best stay outside of friends’ homes. Across Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas, all the AirBnBs were more expensive and less satisfactory. Hotels and motels were way too expensive, and lousy besides. Knights Inn Laura Lodge Pecos combined fantastic value with a quality stay, including outstanding customer service.

The room was decent, a nice size little refrigerator, sliding door to pool, there was breakfast which was pretty good maybe could have used a few more options but overall good. Service was good. Kind of in a good location there is a couple fast food places close by, a super market, wal- mart and a few gas stations within walking distance.

Horrible front staff - NO internet or help

Reviewed By Jenny M

We had to visit Pecos for unexpected death of family member. This was the only hotel with rooms. Due to the circumstance, we needed internet access for work and to make funeral arrangements. We were unable on 5 different devices, cell phones, laptop, and tablets to get wi fi service. When we approached the front desk, the barefoot half asleep lady working behind the desk said she had no idea about it. We had noticed a CAT 5 port in the room. We asked if they were hooked up to the internet, again had no idea what we were asking. We ended up working on the front "business" center computer until 2am since it was the only computer with internet. The next day, we went to walmart and purchased a ethernet cable, the internet did work and didn't work depending. It seemed like it kept being turned off. The wifi still didn't work. We asked again, and same response was they had no idea. Do not advertise you have wi fi if you don't. The router is obviously in by the front and the further away from the router the weaker the signal. I tried to explain this and request a closer room. We wanted to work on funeral arrangements without having to be in the front lobby area. Second staying in front lobby until 2am was a bit scary. There is no one behind the front desk, it is one person who is in a room with a closed door. When another guest tried to contact him around midnight, it took 10 minutes before he came out and then he told the guest "I don't work here I am just covering" On checking out I requested a partial refund since no internet service and I was told, they again didn't know. Finally, on leaving there was a stray dog in the parking lot that almost bit my 4 yr old son while we were trying to load the car. In an already stressful situation, this hotel made it even more stressful. The only positive thing I can is the CLEANING staff was awesome and pleasant, They did a nice job. The rest of the staff (front desk) unfortunately doesn't know anything in running a hotel or their services. We called the front desk to have new towels and sheets changed, we were told, "umm she is in the hallway, you go tell her".

Inexpensive but renovated and clean

Had low expectations however I was very happy to see that the rooms have been updated and renovated. They were very clean and the carpet was fresh. The proprietor Pete was very friendly and talkative and a nice guy. Don't let the price fool you it's really a good motel for those on the road.

Hotel 6 Pecos TX : NO!!!

Reviewed By alanbW9773VT

Hotel 6 Pecos TX: NO!!! Step up to 2nd floors is cracked. When we got to our room my wife immediately began to suspect that this Hotel 6 rented by the hour, not the night. There was no closet, no refrigerator, no coffees maker, only one miniscule bar of soap in the bathroom. There was hot water only after we had run the water for about an hour. So all the water people travelling are advised in other hotels to save by reusing towels went down the drain here. Speaking on towels, there were no washcloths, the towels were a dirty grey. There was a depression in the bathroom wall where a box of Kleenex might once have been, but there was no box of Kleenex now. Maybe a previous guest had taken it as a trophy and momento of a stay here. There was a bed, but I'd advise travelers to bring their own pillows if they stay here. For any reason. Finally, this Hotel 6 (in Pecos TX, remember) seems to take no pride in the grounds on while it sits. The area are it looks like a garbage dump it's so littered with trash. We have stayed at many Motel 6s over the years, but never have seen one is this extremely poor condition. For $110?
