Poor management of the property
Reviewed By MitziMouse2022There seems to be a structural issue of the property. Right now there seem to be broken pipes, so There are few available rooms because some rooms have plumbing problems. Be aware if you arrive after midnight. The third party booking is slightly cheaper but it automatically clears reservation after midnight. I called the property beforehand that I may arrive after midnight and I asked her to keep the room. The receptionist has to keep a room for me with a quoted price! I had to reserve again with a higher price.

Holiday Host Motel is close to many local attractions including Sonora Golf Club, Cauthron Memorial Depot and Sutton County Jail, Sutton County Historical Soc, Caverns of Sonora, Old Sonora Ice House Ranch Museum, Sonora Chamber of Commerce and much more. Our motel offers spacious rooms with continental breakfast, micro fridges, high speed internet access and much more.
Inexpensive no frills classic mom and pop motel
Reviewed By Rob GThe Holiday Host Motel in Sonora is your classic old school motel right out of the 1950s. It's located on what used to be the main east-west highway into and out of Sonora - Loop 467 (old US 290), before the completion of Interstate 10 back in the early to mid 1970s. My wife and I stayed here for a night in August 2020 while on vacation and sightseeing in the hill country area of Texas and were very pleased. This is the best deal in town (under $60 per night including tax) and is perfect for the budget minded no frills type of traveler. Don't expect a 5-star hotel with all the amenities, but if what you are looking for is a simple, clean and relaxing place to rest your head while on the road, this is the place to go in Sonora. The room and the bathroom were both clean and the air conditioner worked well cooling off the room nicely. I'm a big fan of these classic motels and I especially liked the old style cinder block walls in the room. The room came furnished with a modern flat screen TV, small microwave and small refrigerator. The entire outside property was well kept. For those who must have internet, there is WIFI (I usually try and get away from the internet as much as possible while on vacation). The only thing that kept me from giving the property five stars was the fact that it had a pool but it was completely empty. A nice, clean, attractive and functioning pool would be an added bonus for this motel. This aside, the Holiday Host Motel is a good value and perfectly adequate. Why pay more at a ubiquitous chain motel? This will be the place my wife and I stay if we are ever in Sonora again.

Reviewed By Manny BThis hotel is the type that has an outdoor entrance to your room, it's 2 story and outdoor stairwell. They have a good hot breakfast that’s included with the stay, they have a nice gym, a big outdoor pool and the rooms were nice as well. The area is quiet even though it’s close to interstate 10. See pictures of room, pool, breakfast and gym. I would stay there again.

Reviewed By Richard YHotel staff was friendly and attentive. The room was clean. Needed a good night sleep, and I got one here. The breakfast was way better than bagels and toast also! Made to order omelette’s. There is a local Mexican food restaurant right next door, food was really good, I would recommend ?.
