I want to applaud the front desk manager Lori. She did a wonderful job assisting me and was friendly and efficient! More hotel employees need to be like her! Your breakfast attendant shouldn't be begging people to write a good review about her. I didn't see that her service was up to par to warrant that.

Not just historic!

We enjoyed our stay! Unplanned trip just for fun from Tulsa. When possible we love nontraditional hotels. Beds were comfy, rooms clean, and the water was hot. Inn keepers/owners were nice and informative. Interesting to learn they raised their family while living in the hotel. Fort Scott had several places of interest to visit. Note no elevators or 1st floor rooms. Not a concern for us. We would stay again.

I have no complaints. Stayed here twice and it has been a good experience. The food at the Diner is good and the staff friendly. I like staying at the edge of town, closed to the destinations I will be visiting while I am in the area.

Shabby but with some high points

Reviewed By joancL1112BV

Older motel with rooms that open to the outside, not an interior hallway. Our internet would not work, despite multiple attempts and a trip to the lobby. Clerk at desk was very nice and helpful. The room was fairly run down, with holes in the wall, the shower not connected to the wall, tatty towels, and a blistered toilet seat. However, the lighting in the bathroom was excellent. The building is right on the highway and along the train tracks, so it was fairly noisy too, though we did have the window open. Probably wouldn’t stay here again. The only other place in town was twice the price.

Stains

Reviewed By SethySB

Our room had stains on EVERYTHING, no exaggeration. The sheets, blankets, and even furniture had stains from previous tenants... We ended up staying anyway and sleeping on our own sheets and blankets but the heater (which did make some heat) didn't heat the room so it was cold all night.
