The Gateway Motor Inn is a 3.5 star motel situated in the beautiful National Trust Town of Childers, Queensland. Our rooms are modern and spacious and feature reverse cycle air conditioners and wide screen digital TV's. Additionally, all our rooms have a microwave, toaster, fridge and tea & coffee making facilities. One of our best features are our two bedroom units which are designed for families, or groups travelling together. We also have a "Disabled Friendly" room, giving easier access and larger bathroom facilities. Free Wifi is provided throughout the motel. For your entertainment sit and relax in our beautiful landscaped garden or take a swim in our salt water inground pool. We also have a basketball hoop if you would prefer something more active! The Gateway offers home cooked meals, delivered to your door to enjoy in the comfort of your room. Choose from a selection of main & light meals. We provide a hot breakfast 7 days a week or we can deliver a continental breakfast the night before for the early leavers. There is also a variety of non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages including soft drinks, wine, beer and premixed drinks. Be sure to check our specials board for our F&B offers. (Please note that the kitchen is closed for dinner on Saturday and Sunday) All our rooms are on the ground floor with parking outside your room. There is also parking available on our grounds for trailers, small trucks and boats. We welcome the corporate traveller or contract worker and can provide a packed lunch on request. Reviewed By Sylviab055Stayed here for one night in April, while we attended a wedding. The rooms are spacious and clean! It's a great little Motel for an overnight stay. We didn't do breakfast as we wanted to venture out and visit the town. I would stay here again!

All rooms at Childers Oasis Motel are fully renovated with brand new premium beds and other furnitures & appliances. Conveniently located at the back of the property, away from traffic noise but only few minutes walk to museums, shops, pubs, cafe's & restaurants.

Reviewed By Bobbiejay31When childers oasis says best price guaranteed they forget to add but one thing great value for you're money. Along with the rooms being very clean and well presented.At the oasis motel we found it to be a little paradise the staff where very helpful and bubbly and the rooms are just what you need nothing more nothing less quaint and very comfortable. It is a family run motel and they ensured we felt welcome. We would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat it was a pleasure.

The Avocado Motor Inn is under NEW Management Since August 2018 and its is quaint 14 room motel located approximately 800m from the centre of the historical and heritage listed village of Childers, Queensland, recognised the world over as being home to some of the best Avocado and winery production in the southern hemisphere. Your host, Barry and his faithfull dog Millie look forward to welcoming you with their warm country style hospitality, and they invite you to break your long journey by enjoying a "comfy" night's sleep at the Avocado Motor Inn.
Terrible management
Reviewed By Rae_travels1985I booked this motel over the phone for a dog friendly room, as travelling through Childers with my partner and puppy. Barry was pleasant on the phone and I looked forward to our overnight stay. When we arrived Cheryl was pleasant at the front and we went to our room. The walls are extremely thin, and the plumbing very noisy, if water is used even in the adjoining room you can hear it in your room all through the night so it's very disruptive. The television didn't work. Barry was also nosy, patronising and sexist within a space of less than 24 hours. We had barely been in the room 20 minutes, and my partner was trying to sleep after a long drive. Barry was taking loudly to the guests next door and our puppy woke up and heard him and barked slightly and pawed briefly at the door. I picked her up and right then there was a loud knocking at the door and an older white man yelled through "your dog isn't scratching the door are they love". Firstly he didn't introduce himself and I was startled by the invasion of privacy, notwithstanding it woke up my sleeping partner. I then took my puppy for a walk and then returned to grounds later and stood with her just chilling. Barry then walked over to me uninvited and said "she'd (the puppy) would be better off going for a walk". Again, really rude and condescending and intrusive. I would bet there's no way he'd tell a man what to do with their pet, but as a youngish woman I guess he thought I was fair game. It was all very off-putting. Please try any other countless motels in the strip until Barry and the motel is ushered into the new century where paying customers are treated with respect.

Disappointing
Reviewed By Carmen GLiked · A clean overnight stay during a road trip. We could check in late, but I will not book anymore at this motel. Fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, aircon. Disliked · The bed was not comfortable! The price is too high for budget accommodation in a small country town ($159 for 2 people). The place needs a refurbishment, a new look. Old bathroom, old bedding, old furniture, old TV. No cutlery.
