The Carson Valley Inn is a full service hotel/casino located in Minden, Nevada 15 miles south of Carson City and 20 minutes from world class skiing at Heavenly at Tahoe. We are 25 minutes from the South Shore of Lake Tahoe. The Carson Valley Inn has been completely remodeled in the last 5 years. Our casino features table games, live poker, 600 slots and Race and Sports Book. We have two lounges, one with free live entertainment nightly. Our main hotel features a pool, spas, business center and fitness facility. WE have free Wifi. For our value conscious guests we have a motor lodge adjacent to the main hotel. We also have an RV Resort featuring full hook-ups and shower facilities. There is a laundromat. Reviewed By michelle lI stayed here for March madness - four nights. It was terrific. The staff was great. Katie's Kitchen serves a breakfast that can not be better. Room was very clean and quiet. I'm done with over priced Vegas. Also drove up to Genoa (10 minutes) to visit Nevada's oldest bar - Genoa thirst parlor (1853). Well worth the trip. Give the Carson Valley Inn a shot. You won't be sorry.

Dated, dusty, poorly maintained
Reviewed By HappyGrandparentWe stopped here as it was convenient. I try to use Best Western facilities when they are available to me. This one is a big disappointment in many ways. It is in need of serious maintenance including exterior painting, carpet replacement, water pressure repair, and full cleaning of amenities like extra blankets in the room. Breakfast was the average self-serve stuff. I would not stay again.

Good resting place
Reviewed By craig eOrderly, clean and reasonable cost. Nice breakfast included. There are several good nearby restaurants(within walking distance) and a large public park to walk or bike around after a long drive. Gardnerville is a nice distance from the busier communities up north

Poor for a Holiday Inn Express.
Reviewed By mattk805Initially drove past, because the only road sign is a small sign in a larger strip mall sign. First room had a very disgusting stain on the sheets. Second room was seemingly unvacuumed, or at least we found garbage on the floor. Phone made a clicking noise every few seconds, like outloud through the speakerphone I guess. Sounded like we had a loud clock in the room. Hotel is in desparate need of TLC, letters/numbers missing from hallway signs. Doubt we'll be in this part of Nevada again, so us not staying here again really doesn't matter.

Great food, nice lake view & friendly employees
Reviewed By kbtahoeMy husband and I were evacuated for a week from our home in Tahoe due to the Caldor Fire, and we ended up staying at Topaz Lodge. We had a campsite because we had loaded our trailer with belongings we didn't want to burn up, and we rented a hotel room also because our trailer was so packed. The employees were all so friendly and understanding! Big shout-out to Danny at the convenience store/gas station! She was so helpful, always had a smile on her face, and she made me laugh during what was an otherwise very stressful time! They offered us evacuee rates, which I found very reasonable. The day before we were allowed to return home, the general manager came around and personally handed out free prime rib dinner certificates to evacuees! The restaurant there has amazing food, too! Have to admit the hotel itself needs some updating, but looks like they are working on that. Thank you to all the employees that were so kind. You really helped us through a difficult time!!

Disorganized and Nothing worked
Reviewed By RiveraClanRequested a handicap accessible room. Called the main reservation line as calling the hotel line does not work AT ALL. Told the main reservation line that I needed a 1st floor room as it is hard to use cane on stairs plus weak back and legs. Checked in, got NOTHING. They said there was no note in system for 1st floor room. Rooms were given to non handicap persons. Once in room, no phone. Toilet did not work. DIL went to front desk and was told 15 min. 1.5 hours later, nothing. Went back to front desk, opps, forgot. Fixed toilet, now shower does not work. DIL went BACK downstairs (3rd time) they moved me to 1st floor. First floor room did not have a working phone and there was no fridge and still was not handicap accessible. Understand there is a personnel shortage, but reservations are reservations. Having nothing work is also a corporate problem. Will never stay at a Choice Hotel ever again!!!
