The meals are the best. The home and surrounding grounds are beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Stay here if you can.

Quiet, water front lodging in Craig, Alaska on Prince of Wales Island. Convenient location overlooking South Cove Harbor. We have 3 rooms with kitchenettes and 1 luxury suite with a full kitchen and private deck.
Great Spot, Helpful Host
Reviewed By Kevin BThe Great Blue Heron was recommended to us by locals in Ketchikan. The place was warm and cozy and the view of the harbor right out our windows was delightful. Although I thought at first communication with our host was a bit confusing to figure out, she was there when we needed info. Especially when we discovered after we left Craig and Prince of Wales island that my wife left behind a shoulder bag with her medicine and checkbook. When we texted oir host to tell her we thought it was still in our room, she texted back that she had her cleaner check the room, who found it, who called within a half hour to report that the bag would be sent to us via freight collect on one of the air service planes the next morning! What a relief. A great Southeast Alaska experience.

Beachfront lodging for those on vacation or business. For a relaxing ocean view on Prince of Wales Island, no place compares. Full kitchen, washer/dryer and living room allows comfortable extended stays at affordable rates. Each suit has a queen bed in a private bedroom, and bunk beds for additional guests. A propane grill on the shared deck is great for preparing the day's catch of salmon or halibut. If your arms are tired from reeling in fish, soothe the aches in the hot tub (summer months only).
Outstanding place to stay
Reviewed By lbrothers3We rented both rooms for our family trip. The owners met us upon our arrival. The rooms were clean, neat and comfortable. The view of the bay is breath taking. We watched bear across the way while we enjoyed coffee in the mornings and while we bbq'd our salmon in the evenings on patio. An outstanding place to stay!

Reviewed By Eva BI know how hard it is for those small island communities to get the place furnished. I expected run down hotel, with mismatched furniture and partly dysfunctional amenities. I was tremendously impressed with the way hotel looked, outside and inside. Spacious, impeccably clean, great service. It can compete with any hotel in bigger cities. The whole town and the whole island are the great place to visit. Strongly recommend.

Great place, great food
Reviewed By Terry ALindseths, our hosts, were so helpful, kind and hospitable. They gave us wonderful sightseeing advice and the included breakfasts were exceptional. We ordered dinner one night we were there (the only restaurant in the town was closed) and were surprised with halibut lasagna with Alaskan trimmings, finished up with rhubarb/peach pie. We were made to feel so welcome and as if we were staying with friends. Would definitely go back there.
