Returned Visit

This was our 5th visit to Casa Del Sol. It seems to only get better and better. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, and relax, this is the place. The minute you walk onto the property you can hear the calming sound of the fountain in the pool. That is my favorite place. There is nothing more relaxing than to sit on the deck by the pool admiring all the flowers, plants, and the calming sound of the fountain. The pool is always so crystal clear and clean for a swim. You can even spend some time in the hot tub that is right there on the deck by the pool. There are plenty of tables, chairs and towels for your convenience. Every afternoon there are fresh pastries, fruit and juice provided for you. When we come back from an afternoon out, it is like walking into the cottage the very first day. The housekeeper does a such a wonderful job cleaning and preparing the room for our return. The grounds keeper loves his job, and it shows by how he keeps everything so beautiful and pristine. Both the housekeep and grounds keeper work very hard to make your stay enjoyable. Casa Del Sol sits on a hill overlooking Lake Travis. They are located in a wonderful neighborhood giving you an opportunity for a morning or evening walk and even meeting some great neighbors. Thank you Cata and Doug for providing Casa Del Sol. I could write a book on just how GREAT this Bed & Breakfast is!! We always enjoy our visits with you and we will be back. We love Casa Del Sol!!!

Austin Memorial weekend

Our room backed to the street and the bar across the street was so loud, even with our windows closed After complaining to the inkeeper Dakota, who was very understanding, we were contacted by Dave. (Or David) At first his responses were rude and insulting. He told me “well, if you have ever traveled to an urban environment, it is noisy”. We have traveled extensively and his comments were demeaning but eventually he did move us to a room at the back of the property. The room was much larger and we agreed to split the difference in the rate. He told us he filed a complaint with the city since the bar violated the allowed hours for noise and shortly after the music stopped. We had a peaceful stay thereafter. While we found his comments to be disrespectful and cocky he did ultimately resolve the problem.

I planned a surprise weekend for my husband's 65th birthday and chose the Heywood based on other reviewers. I was expecting a nice stay but our experience surpassed our expectations! About 6 months prior to our stay, I contacted the hotel and Maris, Elizabeth and all staff members genuinely shared my excitement about the surprise for my husband (I was flying in our children from different states). From that point on, the fun began...Maris was so wonderful by sending me suggestions for meals and then making all reservations for us. There was not a detail missed. Elizabeth was so warm, engaging and helpful when we arrived and we felt like we were in a second home. I cannot recommend the Heywood highly enough. I would just say "book it quickly" before you don't have the chance to experience this wonderful gem in Austin (and the location was fantastic!!).

We rented out the entire Cat Noir hotel for our September 2021 wedding, and had our entire wedding party stay there - Shelly and her team did an AMAZING job of making sure that we and our guests were all happy the entire time. The rooms are beautifully designed, the staff is pleasant and helpful, the rooftop has a view of downtown. You also can't beat the location - close to downtown, east 6th, and plenty of great nearby bars and restaurants. Our guests all raved about The Cat Noir! Shelly is warm, kind, and always willing to help however she can. She made sure the entire weekend went off without a hitch! We stayed in the apartment (which was incredible) - when we arrived, there was a thoughtful personal note and a welcome gift basket. Anytime we have friends visiting Austin, we're going to recommend they stay there for sure - Shelly and her team are the BEST!! 5 stars across the board :)

The brava house is a hidden gem! My husband and I came to Austin for our honeymoon and added an extra day/night last minute. We booked the Garbo Suite and we wished we had stayed for our entire honeymoon! The house is gorgeous and charming with plenty of dining options nearby. Nick was very attentive and helpful. The breakfast tostadas he made were delicious. If you are looking for a comfortable unique stay this is the place to be.

Jose, one of the employees at Avid, did nothing about an illegal situation.

Reviewed By Cygnus221

A very creepy man has been loitering & drinking beer for hours in Avid's parking lot, which faces many people's windows; He was there for over 6 hours yesterday & he's there now and has been there for 3 hours already...When I spoke to Jose and told him to please do something about it, he said that he wasn't going to bother his 'paying guest'. I told Jose that the guy in his creepy van was weirding me and my friends out, but he refused to do anything...I said I would call the police, and he said that I should go ahead and do that. Jose could have easily taken care of the situation, but he chose to do nothing, so I ended up calling the police...I guess the police didn't do anything either because the creepy guy is still sitting there drinking in his car illegally. Jose treated me like a nuisance, which means that Avid hires employees who are okay with turning a blind eye to illegal activity; That's enough for me to know that I will NEVER stay at their hotels again...I am going to report Jose directly to IHG for condoning illegal activity. I even told Jose that there are children in this hotel, and he still didn't care at all...This is extremely inappropriate.
