I strongly agree with the two recent reviews "Sad place ..." and "Overwhelmed" giving this B&B a 1 star "Terrible' rating. My wife and I went to check in for our $400 pre-paid two night stay, and we felt very uncomfortable with the owner and the house conditions. We decided not to check in, requested a refund (which the owner has refused), and left.

Biking getaway

My son and I decided on staying at the Antique Rose the night before mountain biking Windham mountain. Laureen was always welcoming and a pleasure to stay with. Breakfast was perfect on our way out the next day. The bedroom was very neat and comfortable. The bathroom although shared, really wasn't a big deal with only 3 rooms upstairs. Wish I had more time to relax on the porch but next time for sure! Great place and so close to the mountain! Thx again, Darren and Kyle

Sad and outdated.

Dirty, outdated and sad. Should have realized and cancelled when I had to “check in” at a bar full of locals. Definitely not family friendly. I cancelled my second night as soon as I saw the place. I don’t know where the other reviewers stayed but it was not the same place.

Different buildings/different experiences

Reviewed By MM518plus11

I want to start off with the staff. These folks were super helpful in planning, booking, making arrangements etc for a family reunion. Meals on site (we had all three) were great, and the staff were incredible. The grounds and views are beautiful. Sitting on the porch, reading, overlooking the mountains. Pool was kitchy-cute, loved the shade canopy and the kids loved the tubes and noodles provided for the heated pool. We had a small firepit and there was at least one more closer to the main inn with a ton of picknic tables. And a bin of outdoor game equipment -- bocce, crochet, badminton. Our rooms were not in one of the main buildings, but the first floor of one of the other meetings. The rooms were dated, musty. Cobwebs. The beds were comfortable. The windows needed to be opened for the duration. Wallpaper peeling at seams, ceiling tiles browned from water damage, a few falling through. Our rooms connected to eachother--some in better shape than others. The main room common area between our rooms was dark and dusty. Large fireplace, broken rusty ice machine in corner. We quickly agreed as a family that we would not be hanging out in there--and luckily it was warm enough and the overhand of the building we could set up chairs outside. I would come back -- the overall experience was great. BUT, I would ask more questions about the accomodations and ensure I was in a more updated part of the property. And the people were the kindest!!!

The comforts of home -- away from home

Reviewed By 952jeannie

My family and I had our first Bed and Breakfast stay here at the lovely Georgian Garden Inn. One of the few that allows children ages 7 and up. We enjoyed our stay here during the Presidents' Day Holiday weekend and were more pleasantly surprised at what a lovely place this was both inside and out. The tranquil views of the Catskill mountains and the Windham Mountain Resort barely a mile away. Come for the picturesque views of a babbling brook and lush evergreens. Stay for the delicious home cooked breakfast and tea time. If you're lucky, you'll even get to sample the homemade syrup from their Crabapple berry tree in the backyard. The Inn is owned by two lovely sisters and between their cooking skills and sunny dispositions, they were prompt to ensure we were enjoying our stay. We were greeted each time we passed one another in the home. The living room, dining rooms, and common areas were all warm and inviting. Plush velvety throws, a warm fireplace, and two rocking chairs added to the charm of the relaxed living room. They were especially welcoming once we returned from our daily ski activities, offering hot tea and homemade baked goods or other desserts. Even my pickiest eater (age 9) was satisfied with her custom scrambled egg whites and vanilla pancakes as she wouldn't eat the apple filled ones or the delicious zucchini ones. Those are a must try. The breakfast buffet spread alone is worth writing about since we filled up on it before hitting the slopes. We had one hiccup one morning trying to head out of the Inn and onto the ski slopes. Our car wouldn't start! Immediately, the sisters were quick to offer any help, telephone numbers of the nearby auto garages and any other info we needed. They even went so far above and beyond and offered my kids and I, a lift to Windham while my husband dealt with the car, as they didn't want us to lose the day. They knew we were there that weekend for one reason, skiing! After dropping us off, she even suggested I call her again if I needed a lift on the way back, in case my Uber or taxi ride plans didn't pan out. So awesome of them. Both were so kind and generous with their time. My family and I would totally return to this Inn again as it would be even prettier to see in the summer or autumn months given the views. It was a very comfortable stay and had all the amenities of home. The sisters made sure every guest was happy and enjoyed their stay. We are enamored with this place -- especially for their hospitality. Normally we are hotel folk but this experience has completely opened my eyes to B&B's.
