Lovely Historic Property

Reviewed By 46fredrickf

Very clean and well maintained property. Lovely reception area with amazing hardwood floors and woodwork. Rooms are very nice and loved to be able to step out onto the veranda to relax. Customer service and staff was excellent and responsive in all cases. Only thing I would mention is that there was no desk or flat surface to our computer. The rooms had cute little round end tables that really were not appropriate for this purpose. Location near historic district was also a plus. Might want to check restaurant availability when you are going. Quite a few were not open when we were there on a Monday and Tuesday. Many do not take reservations either. The Franklin Room food was excellent and they do take reservations. I would stay there again.

Unique Old House that is getting a bad rap!!!!

Reviewed By BluBuny

We found this accommodation very pleasant. It a 150 year old house that has been converted into a Bed and Breakfast/Hotel. It is clean, comfortable and accommodating. I have read past reviews and found them not to be accurate. If you are look for a Ritz or Hilton type rooms, you will be disappointed. But if you want a historic, romantic and unique place to stay --- this it the place. I am 82 and found it romantic, if you are much younger and don't find it so, then take a Viagra or just go to sleep! Many of the previous reviews complain that it is in deed or repair and paint -- I don't think that comments like that are warranted. When you get to be 150 years old, you'll need constant repairs and a litt paint too. I think that the owners are trying to to a great job of maintaining the historic look of this property.

Found this gem on trip advisor and called. They had a king bed room available. It was clean, spacious and quiet. Even though it is on the highway, there was llittle night road noise. Would stop again if travelling through.

Best Staff in Town!

Reviewed By dmcalpine312

Went down to Apalachicola to cover Hurricane Michael -- and my crew and I ended up booked at the Apalachicola River Inn. The staff took care of us like we were their own family in a crazy situation. Dena was communicative from the get-go, super helpful, and went above and beyond the call of duty. I was so sad to see both the hotel and Boss Oyster were damaged by the hurricane -- but when they reopen, I hope anyone who's paying a visit to the area stays for a night or two at this place. It's a cute hotel with a great view of the river, and centrally located to anything and everything this town has to offer. Like I said -- the staff is beyond helpful, and you will feel right at home your entire stay.
