Reviewed By Muddy427Nice quaint hotel located on the main drag, though not noisy. Within short walking distance of many shops and restaurants. Continental breakfast was AMAZING, far surpassing anything I have had in the US. No air conditioning, which I found out is not uncommon in Europe.

The right place for tired souls
Reviewed By RhodalitzkiOriginally or partly run by protestant nuns, this is the place to go if you just need to give body, soul and spirit a break. The (upper class with sea view) rooms are spacey enough, so are the bathrooms, with ample cupboard space. Only the shower is very small. The sea view is beautiful with enough possibilities to walk (or cycle). Everything is very clean, everyone friendly and ready to help, the rooms quiet. The Spa area is plain but well equipped, with a big (warm) pool, fitness area, saunas and whirlpool. Massages can be booked. They have their own "beach" access to the lake. The breakfast buffet is great, hot meals are good, especially the salad buffet and the soups. There is also a cafeteria which could do with a bit of improvement and one minus point is for their very expensive tea and hardly any wlan, except at the reception (maybe that's why there is such a big lounge ;0) This venue can also be used for conferences and weddings. If you like you can join the church services (church and nuns are next door) or get counseling. You can get to Ländli by train and bus, but then have to walk about 100m uphill unless you phone, then they drive down to pick you up. A lovely place to wind down!

A delightful discovery
Reviewed By Robin SExcellent restaurant with Swiss specialities, also offering excellent Tibetan momos. In a historic building with a view of the lake, the hostel offers modern and comfortable rooms. An ideal getaway in these times of pandemic. At the end of 2020, the dynamic gourmet Kesang Namgye Soghatsang opened the doors of his hotel-restaurant Engel in Walchwil, without letting the Covid slow down his plans. People are looking forward to enjoying the terraces on the lake, the Japanese and Tibetan restaurants ready to open as soon as the pandemic has subsided.

You can find in the area of Zug a very nice hotel, very private and family atmosphäre.Only 10 individually rooms sign the character of this hotel. Some of the rooms have jacuzzi and sauna.On the floor you have a fridge filled with drinks all served free of charge, the same service you can have with coffee and tea. Enjoy the nice restaurant with gourmet kitchen (only closed on monday and tuesday)
Expensive and poor service
Reviewed By idandbThe hotel is located at a busy, unattractive road junction although the rooms at the rear are quiet. The rooms are well appointed and clean. However when we were there the hotel was virtually unstaffed and the young woman who did appear to show us to our room was polite but unhelpful. The restaurant was unfortunately closed. The price asked for these rooms is usually high for a 3 star hotel in this area and there are better and cheaper options nearby. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By GastrogeniesserWaren für ein Wochenende dort, Zimmer direkt mit Seesicht, sehr sauber und schön. Essen im Restaurant wunderbar, sehr fein gegessen und sehr freundliches Personal. Durften am nächsten Tag noch die Fischaufzucht bestaunen, war sehr spannend und auch schön! Ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt, gerne wieder einmal!

The Hotel Bauernhof is the wonderful LOW COST option, managed by the APARTHOTEL Rotkreuz since July 2016. The Hotel Bauernhof has 10 single and 2 double rooms of 15m2. The moderately-sized but modern rooms are ideal for companies who are looking for temporary accommodation for their employees. All rooms are non-smoking.
Simple Eficiency
Reviewed By Lici BI needed a hotel room for one night, I had no other requirement but a roof over my head. This hotel perfectly served this purpose. It was a bit weird that the reception, check in & out and breakfast are located in another building but in all fairness it really does not matter when one just wants to have a good night sleep. The staff was polite, friendly and very helpful. The room was pristine clean, equipped with all basic necessities. I loved the floor heating in the bathroom. If I could advise to change anything I would say a better, clearer expalanation of the the reception location -maybe a map??, not just the address- would be a great help. The other thing is the plillow. I have never had to sleep on such a soft something, it did not hold my head at all.
