Our updated hotel is conveniently located on Hwy. 61, less than one mile to Lake Superior where you can watch ships being loaded, see the Edna G. Tugboat located in the harbor or visit Castle Danger Brewery. Each of our comfortable guestrooms offer high-speed WiFi, flat screen TV's, refrigerator & microwave. Enjoy our indoor pool, sauna & whirlpool along with a free round of golf on our mini golf course. Start your day with our Hot Breakfast Buffet offered from 6:00am - 10:00am. Please Note: We have temporarily replaced our Hot Breakfast Buffet with a Grab & Go breakfast.

Reviewed By WaysideTravelerThis Country Inn is very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available all day. Mini-golf won't open until Memorial Day. Breakfast was good, with Jimmy Dean's egg and sausage and egg and bacon sandwiches which could be heated in the microwave. Pancake machine. Bananas and fruit cups, yogurt, packaged muffins and granola bars. Cereal individual serving packages. The pool looked nice, but we didn't use it (open to adults until midnight, but to kids only until 10 pm). For $99 it was a good value. Room was quiet.

Not Recommended For Seniors or Those With Mobility Issues
Reviewed By JavaHouseMinnesotaAt a high price point, was provided a lovely cottage at the furthermore location of the property. Issue lies in that there is not guaranteed parking anywhere in the vicinity of our assigned cottage. Some people are bringing more than one car, those vising to eat at the restaurant, taking up a space and a half (thanks BMW driver) or there may be an on site event. As one with mobility issues, we had to park near the road at the point of entry to the property and walk a considerable distance for a few trips for luggage and cooler for items for our kitchen. There is no space to unload and/or turn around. It would have been no point to discuss with the front desk, as there was no parking anywhere. Suggested parking line and number one parking spot per reservation and or pave more of their property for needed parking. Unfortunate experience to an otherwise nice property. We explored other properties off Hwy 61 that do not bring this challenge and will consider those during our next trip 'Up North'.

There are also ATV trails nearby, and you’ll have easy access to a snowmobile trail directly from our parking lot.
Very Nice Hotel
Reviewed By explorer1905We spent one night here last weekend and were delighted with this hotel. We checked in late in the evening, and the receptionist was very helpful. Our adjoining rooms were terrific. They were a comfortable size, very clean and had lots of little extras like a refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was nice, with a separate sink area, so that two people can easily get ready at the same time. Our entire party, all six of us, found the beds comfortable, and the bedding and pillows were great. The lobby was very nice, with large beams and a fireplace - a nice north woods look. The hotel was very quiet and every employee we spoke to was very kind and helpful. We will definitely stay again if we're in the area!

Great North Shore Resort with EV charging
Reviewed By Global794119My family and I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite in the main building. Room was overall very clean and well maintained - the exception being the counter in the bedroom had water spots/didn't look very clean. We enjoyed the pool/hot tub, there were plenty of clean towels and there was a toy box in the pool area with balls, kick boards, etc for the pool as well as a few life jackets for little kids. We enjoyed a quiet breakfast at the restaurant - food was average breakfast fare, and service was good. The hotel has 2 EV chargers and we utilized the Tesla destination charger onsite. We appreciated being able to charge at the hotel a nice perk for EV owners. Location is great for exploring the State parks near by.

Reviewed By MNSandSeekerWe stayed at Voyageur Motel for one night on Oct.5, 2019 while hiking state parks along the North Shore. We booked a room with two beds. Paid $116... I cried after seeing the room. The beds moved around and squeaked horribly with just the slightest movement. I wouldn’t shower because the ceiling and floor had mold. There was a creepy door in front of the toilet that went, God knows where, but I was fairly certain I had checked into the Bates Motel and was going to get murdered in the night. The mirror was peeling. It took forever for the radiator to warm up the room with the brick walls. - Never. Again. - With all the money this owner charged for this room she/he should be remodeling and updating the place! We paid about the same amount the night before and night after to stay at Bluefin and Larsmont Cottages on the water and those places were extremely nice!
