The origins of Finca la Estacada Wine Tourism Complex lie in an old farm owned by descendants of Queen Maria Christina, the widow of Ferdinand VII. It was acquired by the current owners, the Cantarero Rodríguez family, in the middle of the 20th century. Finca La Estacada emerged as a winery in 2001 with its main focus on red wines, but it has grown alongside wine tourism to become a WINE TOURISM COMPLEX today that features a restaurant awarded the Q for Quality Tourism, a 4-star hotel with 25 rooms from which guests can enjoy views of the winery's vineyards, and a wine therapy spa where visitors can explore wine with the five senses. The complex is located near Tarancón, with the cities of Madrid and Cuenca just a 40-minute drive away.
Not such a great visit
Reviewed By C1772SIalisonbWe have visited the hotel four times . The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is adequate . This last visit left us disappointed . We waited two hours in the restaurant . We were tired from our long drive . At first it seemed the waiters were ignoring us . I had to ask for service . Finally when we managed to order a meal , only half ( the mains ) arrived got my partner . Our starter did not appear and nor did my burger. After waiting so long and watching all around be served , we complained . It is now as we expected .

Excellent modern hotel
Reviewed By 647ChrisWe had a unplanned three day stop in Tarancon after our car broke down. Luckily, we were able to spend it at the Hotel Ansares which was very comfortable. Very interesting deco in the public areas, really comfortable room (with the comfiest pillow and duvet I have experienced in some time) and with what appears to be the most popular restaurant/bar in town. Only downside was that there was some confusion over meals and prices - so ask for full details when you book in.

Overnight stop from the ferry
Reviewed By Sue HNeeded an overnight stop driving down to Costa Blanca from ferry . This fitted the bill perfectly.Lovedthemotel style rooms so clean and comfortable. Would stay here again very quiet location just off the motorway.

Good Hostal in Tarancon
Reviewed By ElifeCWe stayed in this hostal for one night das a stopover between Cuenca and Madrid. The service was essential, there was a guy at the reception who handed over the keys. The room was basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. It was very cold so it took some time for the heater to warm up the room. The bathroom was small but clean even though there was not much hot water for the shower. It’s very close to the train station and to the center of the town. Parking was easy.

Reviewed By serranohamSad, so sad. SInce the motorway bypass was constructed, so few travellers pass by Tarancon. We were the only guests the night we stayed aat Hotel Sur, which could be straight from Psycho. Rooms are decorated in consummate bad taste but the price (55 euros) is right, the aircon works and the shower spurts.
