Reviewed By Dk97045Clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast with many choices -fruit, salads, eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, smoothie and even gluten free items. Bed was comfortable and the room had plenty of space. Staff gave us some great suggestions on unique and local places to visit. Close to Olso yet a small town vibe. Enjoyed it so much we extended our stay here.

Small, modern, countryside family-run hotel that focus on personal service and good food at a sensible cost. 21 rooms renovated in 2009. Free WLAN Internet service and flatscreen TVs in all rooms.Free parking. Great in-house Pizzeria/trattoria with wood fired oven. Pool- and snookertables. Swimming center and art gallery next door. A great place for kids!The hotel is in Helgelandsmoen, south of Hønefoss. 50 min by car to OSL Gardermoen, Oslo and Drammen. If you're going west, this is a great pitstop. Close to Vikersund Ski Flying Arena.

Grand Hotel is situated down town Honefoss. The Grand Hotel was established in 1809. Back then it was a small inn. Todays right wing was built as a railway hotel in 1858. The wing that is facing the street has a pure style from 1912, which projects todays hotel as a traditional place with distinctive character. Welcome to the Grand Hotel!

Dårlig lydisolering, støy fra gata, jernbanelinjen som ligger like ved og "hyggelige" gjester som drekker seg stappfull og krangler på russisk ved korridoren lar deg garantert ikke til å sove. "Frokost" som er inkludert kunne vært send inn til Mattilsynet til kontroll. Kriminelle forhold, men til tross for alt, hvis du kan ikke kjøre videre og må overnatte for ei natt i byen, kan redde dagen. Og ta med toalettpapir, det er ikke inkludert. Digger du å dusje i kaldt vann, så du kommer til å elske det, det er ingen varmtvann. Klart at tre stjerner er kun symbolsk ved navnet av hotellet. Bygget har sikkert sett mye bedre dager i 60-tallet. Siden da, har det ikke vært noen tegn av renovering. This hotel can compared with a camping place. There is absolutely no sound proofing neither on doors nor on the windows, so noise from the roads, the railway and drunken russian neighbours won't let you sleep. If you don't want to spend your whole day on the toilet, skip the breakfast. Take toilet paper with you, as it is not included in the bathroom. Prepare for cold showers, as there are no warm running water. It is recommended to stay only for a day if you cannot find other place and you need to definitely stay. If you come from abroad and you expect a three star hotel quality, this won't fulfill your expectations. We have many great three star hotels in Norway, Grand Hotel Hønefoss AS is humiliating it's heritage and even it's hotel title. Think it over, you don't have to, you don't need to waste that 950 kr for a day here.
