Great value in an idyllic setting.
Reviewed By kirib30We struck unseasonably cold weather while staying here for a 5 day break in Corsica, so we didn't get to make the most of the village and facilities on offer. But in my opinion, everything is here or nearby and it's a superb place to stay. The pool looks fab with plenty of loungers around it and the beach is right in front of the on-site restaurant with thatched umbrellas and seating areas. It all looks very tropical and inviting (when the sun it out!). We didn't eat in the restaurant but they had good reviews and the prices were very reasonable. A cool beverage at the end of the day overlooking the beach would be extremely relaxing here! Laundry facilities (wash and dry approx 10euros) are available. Plenty of space for carparking and safe. Our apartment was perfect for a couple - comfy bed, hot shower, plenty of TV channels to choose from (not that you would need that in the Summer!). Kitchen is basic with microwave and two elements. No toaster, griller or oven facilities FYI. The wifi was patchy and almost non-existent with the doors and windows closed. But like I said, it was cold while we were there so on a sunny warm day/evening with doors and windows open the wifi connection would be fine. Location was great for us - quiet and away from the hustle and bustle, but a SPAR supermarket and other facilities 5mins away. Bonifacio is 2hrs 15mins by car and a nice drive down the coast. Some great spots nearby - a 90min one way reasonably challenging hike up into the hills to see an abandoned village, waterfalls and the Henri Toivonen memorial was a 60min drive (on some very wiggly waggly roads) for retro rally enthusiasts. Finally, our host was excellent. He supplied us with a radiator heater since it was cold and told us where to find shops, what to do in Bonifacio, where to go for the walks and drives. He was really fantastic and spoke excellent English so communication was easy. Would definitely stay here again.

The first impression top, but then…
Reviewed By 173christianmThe first impression was very good. The hotel has charm, you can see many lovely details. The location is terrific, you can't get any closer to the sea. The outdoor area facing the sea is almost worth booking, if it weren't the second impression... Unfortunately I have to confirm other reviews, there is a bad smell coming from the bathroom, probably from the drain pipes. I can also confirm that the mattresses should have been changed long ago. The Wifi is mostly poor, but we weren’t travel to surf the Internet, but the waves. The second impression was also not very good with the staff. We had empty drink cans at the pool. These were removed while we were there, with shaking heads and grumbling. Of course, we would have taken them away when we left. There is no rubbish bin anywhere, so we took it to the room each time. I generally had the impression that my children were not very welcome. The actual very nice cleaner ordered my children out of the room at 10 am o'clock - when I was already outside - so that she could clean. They were still in bed in their pyjamas and had to get out quickly. No drama, but I understand something different under good guest service. In a nutshell: if sea and view are the only things that matter to you, book here. If other things are also important to you or if you have kids, look may for another hotel.

Reviewed By angela jThe best bits, Located close to beach. Modern unit. We stayed at Acqua Bella for 7 nights recently. The resort description and reality are entirely different. Not being able to check in till 5pm on day of arrival, I was disapointed to find a closed pool with no chairs, loungers chairs or umbrellas and this remained the same throughout the whole week. A notice placed on the restaurant door stated it would be closed that evening for a private wedding. The bar was only open for approximately half an hour then closed. Not a great start to a holiday. The process of check in began, and all the reception walls were covered in list of extra charges for every item necessary for the unit. Keys would not be released until I had paid a mandatory £84 euros for two sets of sheets and a cleaning charge.(More of which later) Had I wanted a remote control for the TV thats 40 euro and wifi about the same. The two units I had booked through Secret Escapes were described as luxury one bed apartments with wood flooring throughout. A mezzanine level with a bed on it and a creaky wooden staircase to the downstairs loo is not what I would expect. Had any body slept on the rough sofa bed (no sheets) they would have been woken nightly by anybody descending the noisy stairs to use the bathroom. Despite having paid 84 euros for cleaning, the onus is on the occupier to do the work themselves on check out and on a warning of a 90 euro fine. The list of tasks to complete is extensive and inspection needs to be booked two days before departure. The resort was in fact in a state of closure for the season, the restaurant only open for private staff parties.Likewise many of the local restaurants were in the same mode and the only saving grace was a beach bar half a mile to the south.

Reviewed By maxim_mosVery nice place to stay near the beach, just steps. The beach itself is sandy with some stones. Not so many people on the beach. The houses in the camping are new and clean. Well equipped kitchen. But the walls in the house are thin...not so comfortable. There are some "luxury" houses with AC. But you have to pay more. The territory of the camping is big and clean. So, overall, comfortable stay for the family near the beach. The car is strongly recommended

Un personnel professionnel Malheureusement un appartement très moyen sans moustiquaire sans climatisation avec une literie bas de gamme Appartement très mal équipé Et j'en passe Aucun investissement a été fait depuis des années!!! À 200 € la nuit cela est inadmissible
