Nice surprise

Double bed didn’t feel like a double bed. Really good supportive mattress & my husband is on the heavier side. My pillow was perfect. I slept really well.. The tv was set at a good height to watch in bed. The a/c worked well. Everything is clean & the area is very quiet. Little kitchenette is perfect. My husband & I were running late on a Friday night and caught in Sydney traffic. We were courtesy called on the way to see what time we might arrive . He arranged for the key to be accessible to us. A really homely clean motel that I would definitely stay at again.

OK for the price

Not much to complain in terms of accommodation or facilities. Orient Cabin was very comfortable, clean and warm. Cooking utensils were fine, but quite limited, so don't plan a feast... It was quiet at night and the beds are comfy. One problem is that if you don't pay attention, this isn't located in a nature setting or even within green streets of a little town. There's a huge industrial area literally behind the cabins, and some massive chimneys no further than a kilometer away... So, if that bothers you, stay away.

Friendly owners, cosy, clean and comfortable

It is a motel so did not have any set expectations. Booked directly, provided quote and locked for two nights getaway just after Boxing Day 2021. Motel has an indistinguishable big trout at the front. Greeted by friendly owners. Motel is 1km away from town centre. Plenty of parking onsite. Rooms are neat and tidy just your typical motel. No smell, beds are comfortable, we always bring our own bed sheets, pillow and quilt covers. Perfect for a family of five. Ideal place to stay for short getaway out of the city to visit Jenolan’s Cave and Mayfield Garden. Great value too.

Bargain basement accommodation overpriced

Reviewed By MickyGeee

I'm always doubtful of Pub accommodation, and I found nothing out of the ordinary this time regardless of high praise from reviews I checked before booking. Upon arriving, firstly there was no obvious/unlocked accommodation entrance, so we entered the bar clutching our baggage, and instantly felt the yes of the patrons on us. I waited to be served at the bar, and asked the lady about checking into accommodation, and I was asked to go to the other side of the bar, through a passageway. There they had a computer with accommodation booking details, and I paid for the booking. I was not given any guidance, except that I was to go upstairs, and where approx my room was. No mention of facilities, wifi passwords, etc. Room: large with nice beds, but the window didn't lock, and there was no easy way to cool the room after a hot day so sleeping was difficult in the warmth (no aircon or fan) - limited powerpoints for charging (one PowerPoint with powerboard next to one of the beds in a family room) Shared TV: not working Shared bathroom: one means and one ladies' on the floor of 10+ rooms - a single toilet in each, and in the men's the basin was inside the shower recess, so I had to brush my teeth in the laundry area - the hot water takes about 2-3 minutes to come through, due to the aging large hotel needing pipes to come a long way to the bathrooms no doubt. Instantaneous hot water systems probably should be fitted to this property. Noise was an issue - was woken vert late/early due to drunk patrons being ejected from the pub. Soap was provided, but no shampoo/conditioner. Towels were provided, but no face washers. Free wifi was advertised, but not provided. No information sheet was provided in rooms, and would have been a nice touch given the staffs inability to provide any general guidance.
