The B&B is comfortable and allows for relaxation either inside or on the upper and lower porches. A short walk to downtown shops, cafes, and St. Lawrence University.
Enjoyable stay
Reviewed By rjr0810I enjoyed my stay here and had the place to myself for three nights as the only guest. The Rouse Room was comfortable and roomy. The bath towels were thick and awesome. Tasty breakfasts were made to order and I enjoyed the conversation with Julia and Kate, who prepared my breakfast each day. I also had a nice chat upon arrival with Charles; he was engaging and a nice guy though I never saw him again after that. I also met his two adorable kids a couple mornings during breakfast. The was delicious coffee cake and cookies on offer at any time. There weren't any specific beverages available that I was aware of outside of breakfast and I didn't want to raid the fridge so I helped myself to water from the faucet. There was no cup or glass in the bathroom which I thought was odd. Also, my room had a balcony but no chair to sit on. No one asked if i wanted the room refreshed each day and it was not. I did not have a problem with this but it would have been good to have been asked. These are all minor quibbles from a great stay and I recommend 24 East Main when staying in Canton.

Reviewed By Wilma608Large, spacious room! Comfortable bed, wonderful pillows. Clean room, bathroom, sheets, towels, floors. It was a lovely night's stay -- and we drove an extra 60-100 miles to get here -- Midwesterners unfamiliar with New England travel during the height of the color change! Yikes! We must have got one of the last rooms available, because they were very busy, and the desk seemed very harried by the time we checked in. We got a handicapped-accessible room RIGHT beside the elevator (and it was the noisiest elevator I ever lived with!) The receptionist told us we were paying about the least of any guest that night (thanks, Hotels.com!) When we asked where we could find dinner, she said there was no place to eat in Canton & we'd have to drive back to Potsdam. (At 8 p.m?) We found the Best Western just down the street that had a lovely restaurant. So, those things aside, we had a wonderful night's rest in clean, comfortable surroundings.

Desent place
Reviewed By WibribQuite a decent place to stay overnight. Did not try the breakfast as it ended already at 10.00. Good with parking spaces and proximity to restaurants and fast food chains. Short way to the university area. Large rooms with easy climate management. Slightly poor cleaning and soap, shampoo and conditioner smelled old.
