Rotary Park

I have be a resident of Whitecourt for 10 years and watching Rotary grow into the Family orientated park has been amazing. It is the perfect place to pack some food and swimming clothes and head to for a day of rest and relaxation for the whole family. The younger kids love the splash park and the older ones will love the water slides.

Hard Luck Canyon

The canyon is is little piece of unexpected topography just outside of Whitecourt. The "trail" if you really want to call it that is a short, nicely groomed walking path that brings you to a scenic gorge, at which point you can descend the stairs to the little creek below.
Seniors, children, families...this is accessible to pretty much anyone other than those who rely on a mobility-assist device of any sort. Also, the stairs are pretty steep, so anyone who finds that challenging may require a helping hand. I noticed that whoever oversees this place thoughtfully placed a bench right near the top of he staircase. Seniors appreciate that kind of detail!

But the mosquitoes were terrible! Fun was gone: mosquitoes spray did not work lol
So we were tenting beside family camper still being charged as per 2 units in 1 campground - same rate! (You better park your vehicle somewhere else cause they won't charge you any penny lol)
Reservation made online only? I believe so!
Shower is not free, bring your toonies/loonies!!!

Whitecourt & District Forest Interpretive Centre

Reviewed By Mari D - Leeds

If you're passing Whitecourt on your travels to the north of Canada, we would highly recommend dropping in to this visitor and information centre if only to savour the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff there. The facilities are kept immaculately clean with coffee/tea available for free. The museum display is small but very descriptive, built mainly on the donations of items from local residents but Anna is the star here. She enthuses about her centre and does everything possible to make you feel welcome to her area, answering every query in detail and with patience. Her bubbly personality makes you feel very welcome. Highly recommended!
