If you’ve never thought much about North Dakota, maybe it’s time you started. Boasting miles and miles of hiking trails, including the Lewis and Clark trail, in addition to multiple museums, golf courses, casinos and amusement parks, North Dakota is bursting with things to do. Situated smack between the Great Lakes and the Pacific Ocean, North Dakota was once called “America’s Most Affordable Vacation Site” by the American Automobile Association. Meriwether Lewis and William Clark are two of North Dakota’s most famous residents. Tracing the courses of the Missouri and Columbia and rivers, the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail stretches through 11 states. Thanks to their explorations, visitors to North Dakota with an interest in history can do some exploring of their own. Bismarck is not only the capital of the state, it’s also home to several Lewis and Clark historical sites including Fort Yates, where the pair stopped to trade with the Mandan Indians. For family fun in Bismarck, don’t miss the Dakota Zoo and Raging Rivers Waterpark. With more golf courses per capita than any other state (11 in Bismarck and Fargo alone), golf lovers are sure to find a course to their liking. Agri-tourism is also a popular activity in North Dakota, which ranks first in the production of spring wheat, durum wheat, sunflowers, barley, honey and other crops.

Like staying at your grandmother's house!

Reviewed By Sue T

Don't be put off by the name, House of Fun! I was attending a family reunion in Maddock, ND, and a cousin recommended the House of Fun. Skepticism gave way to a feeling of coming home the minute I crossed the front porch and opened the door. The owners, Mike & Cindy Jelle refurbished what used to be the old Maddock Hospital into a warm, homey B&B. The decor is a mixture of antique and retro with quilts, old photos and both humorous and sentimental mottos adorning the walls. The front porch is the perfect place to relax, read a book or simply enjoy the peace and quiet. The complimentary breakfast, consisting of the special of the day, French toast, sausage and eggs, biscuits and gravy, or fresh fish caught in one of the many lakes in the area was one of the best breakfast I've every had at a B&B or hotel. Two minor drawbacks: no air conditioning and no closets to hang your clothes but the ceiling fans and fresh breeze kept the house comfortable and what few clothes I needed were draped over the bed's footboard; keeping them wrinkle free. Cindy offers quilting classes as well as other fun activities, thus the name "House of Fun"; a fun place for fun people to do fun things. If I'm ever in the area again, the House of Fun is where I'll stay.

Reviewed By Vladimir S

A Sleeper of a Motel/B.& B. , Queen of Peace offers what some neighboring motels around hotels lack. A friend referred me to it. And ''WOW'', was I surprised!!! The innovative Housekeeper, "SANDRA", will make your Stay as the Best You Ever Had! She treats everyone like FAMILY!!! And the Morning Cook, Paul, provides Outstanding Breakfasts, you. leave, FULL''! Queen of Peace, has an Elevator for their Guests to use, most motels do NOT! Each B. & B. measures 18' X 27', now that is BIG! So, Quiet Day and Night, is where you can rely for Peace. Close to Supermarkets and close to. Restaurants in Belcourt and neighboring cities. Parking right in front of building, that is Security, plus Security Cameras throughout the Building. I will make the Queen of Peace MY Motel to stay, when visiting Belcourt or any surrounding cities or town. The Rate is the SAME year round, NO change for Weekends or Seasons! And the Rate is Really "L O W "!!! I cannot say anything Negative about it, only POSITIVE!!!

Dollar store service

Reviewed By Navigate03774103273

I was excited to come home and join family for my mother's birthday. My family rented 6 rooms for 1 to 2 nights. We thought with a restaurant, lounge connected to hotel would be perfect. Sadly on Saturday night we all came to sit in lounge at 10 pm and the bartender stated they were closing we could have last call. Our mouths dropped as we looked forward to visiting and catching up having a few cocktails. My sister in law got the managers number and called, needless to say the bar remained open. We were pleased but disappointed..the call had to be made. The hotel rooms...cheesy...dollar store quality towels, hard bed, super economic room for $100 and some dollars. Upon returning home, got a message on my phone the room my daughter had with her 2 year old was left "messy" and accusations of drug usuage in there. They charge an extra $350 TO MY CARD!! YES YOU READ IT RIGHT...$350. After many conversations they agree the substance on the counter was "sugar" and not cocaine. The phone and alarm clock were put up so the baby would not mess with them, and agreed they were not damaged as orginally accused. Due to alittle extra cleaning they dropped it down to $200...freaking incredibly wrong. The family spent approx $2000 in 2 nights in the joint (HOTEL) and we received this type of treatment. The fan unit in the wall didnt work and dont order pizzas at front desk..the supreme was served cold twice...Take my advice, find a different place to stay, good luck. DONT SIGN XTRA PAPER!

A bargain.

Reviewed By Ian S

This is an older motel. Rooms are basic by modern standards without fridge or microwave. Positively the room was clean, beds were comfortable, air conditioning effective, and lots of hot water. WiFi was excellent. The price was exceptionally low and the owner charming and helpful. It was great for a one night stay.
