6 Resorts in Reno: Best hotel deals for 2023

April 21, 2023 Rosalyn Ihle

Nevada's "other" gambling and resort town, Reno is located in the western part of the state near the California border. What the city lacks in glitz or reputation it more than makes up for in attractions and amenities. There are first-rate hotels, golf courses and casinos to rival its southern counterpart and, also like Las Vegas, Reno has become a popular destination for families. Galena Creek Park offers nature trails that even young children can navigate, plus organized educational events for families.

My wife and I just spent her Birthday and Our anniversary at the Atlantis casino with another couple. The lodging was great, the food was great and the gaming was lots of fun. We try to make the trip every year. Covid caused a few problems with this the last couple of years. I miss the live music they have discontinued and one negative is the bed seemed to be harder causing me not to sleep as well. This might be because of my being older and liking a softer bed. All and all, a wonderful time.

ok for the money and location

nice walkable distance to The Row, arch, and riverwalk. hotel itself is a little dated, but some rooms may be better than others. pretty cool to have a heated pool and a dry sauna room. bed was ok, but the shower needs to be updated. overheard others saying their room was nice, so that's why I assume other rooms may be better than others.
