I booked a room in Nov 2021 for the Garth Brooks concert in April 2022. I went through Expedia to book it and had selected to pay at the hotel, reserved with a credit card hold. We were coming from Florida and about half way there my husband decided to call OYO to see what the latest checkin time was. Good thing he did because we were told the hotel property manager had canceled our reservation because the price was wrong on Expedia. No phone call in the 5 months of reservation to let me know this, no email, no contact at all from the hotel. They refused to honor the confirmation we had unless we paid an additional $300+ for the room. I’m sorry but this hotel was a 2 star, we only needed it to sleep and was not planning on being in the room much, and they are wanting $225 a night! After we found out they canceled the reservation, I received a email from Discover saying a charge was attempted and they denied the charge. Thank god for Discover! I am pretty sure they jacked their prices up because of all the festivals, LSU activities and the Garth Brooks concert. I will never book another room with them and I am reporting them to the BBB. OYO Port Allen is horrible and don’t waste you time with them because your reservation will be canceled the day your arriving with no notice to scam more mo ey from you!!!!

Horrible service

Reviewed By Susan B

While the rooms are clean, the equipment and service are terrible. We checked in and after getting settled in our room, we realized the refrigerator was making a loud humming noise. I called the front desk and asked for someone to come up and turn it off. We did not want to have to change rooms but knew we did not need the refrigerator. No one came. After taking a shower I tried to use the hair dryer and fiscovered it did not work. I called the front desk again and reminded them we needed someone to turn off the refrigerator or fix it so it stopped buzzing and asked for a hair dryer to be brought quickly. No one ever came. Two hours later the front desk called to say they could not reach anyone to fix the refrigerator. We ended up lifting it out ourselves (2 women) and unplugging it. No hair dryer ever deluvered. My hair will have to wait until tomorrow night at a different hotel to get styled. The air conditioner rattles so we won't be able to sleep even with the refrigerator unplugged. Choose another place.

Baton Rouge West Inn

Horrendous

Reviewed By Sw00278

This place is absolutely unbelievable. My fiancé made a reservation and secured a room with his credit card for an emergency job in Baton Rouge. The woman at the front desk even called both of us and we both confirmed he was on his way. When he arrived, his room had already been given to someone else. My fiancé had to be at work at 5 the next morning, and this raggedy place left him with no where to stay. Tell me, what the hell is the point in reserving a room with a credit card, if, when you arrive, your reservation has been given to someone else. When I called to attempt to get an explanation on why, I got nothing but excuses. This woman (who hung up on me when I asked for her name) knew he was coming and actively on his way and still gave his room up. As many times as this woman called to make sure he was coming, and as many times as we told her he was on his way, you would think when he got there he would have no trouble checking in. Wrong. My fiancé was driving from hours away, to the hotel he reserved. Rightfully so, we are absolutely pissed. This is top tier BS, and I hope nothing but the worse for this crap hole and the awful woman at the front desk who hung up on me when I asked for her name.

VERY UNSAFE

Next door to LOVES TRUCK STOP, I was given a smoking room, I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome so this was an issue. I look for the phone to call front desk, it is UNDER the bedside table. I thought well it's not plugged in. WRONG! Wires had been cut. There was no smoke detector present either. And upon further inspection, there were screw holes where there had been a LOCK on the INSIDE of the door...as in holding someone hostage?? The lock on the door did NOT work, no way to keep anyone out of my room. I was on the end 103. I decided just to rough it out, as I had my service dog with me that is also very protective and will BITE upon command. It was noisy, people banging doors all night, hanging out on sidewalk sitting doing hard drugs, not just smoking pot. I took my dog out as needed, and was VERY aware of my surroundings. I can say I did not see any member of management. I have pictures to prove what I'm saying. IT WAS AWFUL. If I wasn't a brave woman used to travelling alone, I would've left. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! It looks as if there was sex trafficking or prostitution at least going on....
