Dishonest business that doesn’t respond to your calls or emails.

This business has been pocketing my money and has not returned my calls or emails. We were supposed to change our dates of stay after having paid in full and they haven’t gotten back to me about that and they don’t answer my calls or texts. They are unreliable and untrustworthy. Do not book with them.

Excellent time and Very good management under COVID

My wife and I stayed at Sunset Beach several days in 2019 - what a wonderful secluded, exotic and fun time! We had reservations for 2020, but with COVID they understandably remained closed and provided full refund. We will certainly be back in 2021!

First time staying at Shelter Island House & my husband and I will return. Our room was large, immaculate w/ a spacious walk-in shower. My favorite in the morning at the breakfast bar was the delicious fresh fruit and excellent coffee. Staff are friendly, but best of all was the hospitality provided by the owner, Suzanne.

Fabulous Weekend

Reviewed By ManhattanEscapist

We are two friends who were looking for a quick escape from New York City without a car. We found more than we could have hoped for in the Dering Harbor Inn. Travel from the city was easy, we took the LIRR and ferry there and the jitney back. The accommodations were exceptional. We had a a well appointed apartment with everything we could want. Shelly, the manager, was more than accommodating, informative, helpful and a sheer delight to deal with. Barbara also was extremely helpful by giving us suggestions for places to visit and restaurants. The view from our cabin was great, we had our morning coffee on the terrace. It was easy to get lost, because the streets were anything but grid like and in some intersections there was no clarity about which way to go.
