Reviewed By RAmitRathoreeNice staff, nice food, nice location and a great breakfast. We enjoyed the stay. We are vegetarian and in Norway its bit difficult when it comes to the food choice. But sheaf made us great vegetarian food.

Incredible service, extremely helpfull staff, fantastic food and drinks. Family and friends were just as impressed as us, with everything. Rather like a museum
Reviewed By WoimbleThe hotel comprises two properties, a 19th century grand building in the style of a Swiss Chalet and just across the car park the accommodation annex. All the rooms are on the 1st floor and there is a lift. Hotel room was fine, clean, comfortable, nice bed, good Wi-Fi and peaceful. The whole complex is set in wood land. The main building houses the restaurant, and function rooms. The restaurant overlooks the car park and the extra part of the restaurant is the old library. Both are pleasant, the library especially but the main restaurant room lacks atmosphere. Food is OK. Breakfast is part buffet part ordered. Coffee cups are much too small not jug of coffee is left on the table, so always a wait for more coffee. I had dinner one evening. Service was good but meal and presentation lacking. Around the ground floor are scattered various historical naval effects as well as many naval pictures, these of course depict the buildings history but make the place feel museum like.

Poor cleaning
Reviewed By 2830othApartment was ok, but the cleaning was poor. We found cheese among the cutlery, the coffee machine was dirty, and had used coffee ground….. The apartment had a strange smell, like a football team of old men, that just had played 90 minutes and skipped the shower… Swimming pool was ok.

First Hotel Horten is a modern and inviting hotel, located 2 km south of Horten centre. We offer 77 large and stylish rooms. Breakfast is included in the price. Explore the beautiful surroundings right next to the hotel, among other Borre Golfbane, where you can either enjoy a round of golf or take a run or walk in the serene nature. Visit the lovely beach, Rørerstand, or take a trip to the Viking graves at the world-known Borrehaugene. The hotel is right next to the gym Sport 24 and Vestfold Bowling. Your possibilities are endless. Public transport is easily accessible right outside our door, both in the direction towards Horten centre and Tønsberg centre. Oslo, Akershus, Buskerud, Telemark and Østfold are only an hour away by car. We also offer free parking in front of the hotel.

Reviewed By GrahamDavidRobinsonWe chose Hotel Horten as the closest hotel to the Midgardsenter at Borre for the Midgardsblot Metal Festival. Overall, it could best be described as quiet and comfortable, with very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. The room was quite large and airy and the beds were comfortable. The breakfasts are continental buffet style and were perfectly adequate. By Norwegian standards, the price was pretty reasonable. We have booked again for next year's festival.
