We are located in the middle of some of the most beautiful landmark places in the north west. We are located just a few miles off the main road with a hot spring supply right on our land. To all our guests during the summer season, we offer a warm and calming bathing experience at our beautiful pool located right outside your window - a perfect place to relax in the midnight sun after a great day in the Icelandic nature. At arrival all guests are offered a guided tour through and around the building and are treated with a small home baked good from our kitchen a long with a cup of warm coffee or tea.

Reviewed By Siret KHad a lovely stay, the rooms are small but clean, the toilets and bathrooms are simple but clean. The outdoor swimmingpool is amazing!!! The breakfast was delicious fresh and plentiful. But the best thing about the hotel is the sunny, smily and beyond helpful staff who made us feel welcome and straight at home!

Very good if you love bad smell and flies
Reviewed By 214vitogI give only one star because i can’t give zero. Worst guesthouse of my trip in Iceland! When we arrived in the guesthouse, there was a disgusting fishy smell. But that’s not the worst thing: in every room there were lots of flies. We brought a spray to kill them, but that wasn’t enough. Then, the owner (that was not in town) gave us other rooms that was used and dirty. We agreed a refund at the phone, but then they said that we didn’t deserve it because we slept anyway (The alternative was sleep in the car). I absolutely do not recommend it.

Amazing hosts and lovely cottage
Reviewed By sabrinadU948EII can only say good things about Glaðheimar cottages. Booked super last minute (same day) and was warmly welcomed and even guided to the site. The cottage was cozy, the bed as well and the blinds provided full darkness at night in the Icelandic summer which was very welcoming :). I can absolutely recommend their customer service and the owner was going great lenghts to help out with a car breakdown the next morning referring me to the right people on a Sunday when everything was closed. I am very thankful and will definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Blönduos :). Takk fyrir mig.

Spacious, comfortable, great views
Reviewed By EAS47First self-catering stop on a trip round the Iceland Ring Road, setting a standard that was hard to beat. The apartment was very spacious (the largest we stayed in), well appointed and had marvellous views over Blönduós and surrounding areas (the best views we had at our various stopping points). Cooking facilities were good. A really good start to our journey, which set standards later stops rarely met.

Curiously expensive local niceties
Reviewed By angantyssonThis was interesting. It´s basically like being invited to dinner at a rich uncle´s house who knows how to cook. It´s a bit weird but the food was okay and the fish was super fresh and nice. The environment is amazing but the town itself is a bit of a ghost town so I don´t know what else to recommend there. The rooms themselves are extremely basic especially given the price tag which is just ridiculous when I think about it. If you yourself are of the rich uncle variety then I would definitely recommend this place, otherwise I think your money is better spent elsewhere.

Quiet hostel with a wonderful view
Reviewed By Päivi LMy husband and I stayed in Riverside Hostel when we came to visit our daughter who lived in the old girl school right on the other side of the water. We didn´t expect hight standard because of the price and hostel standard but were pleased with the room and the house. There were several other quests but it was quiet and peaceful all the same. Most guests made their dinner and breakfast in the kitchen, which was well equipped. We had announced our arrival and got the roomnumber from the owner. The key was in the lock and there was no inconveniance with this simple check in, All in all we had a plesant stay.
