Tripping through Texas with Best Western

This review is based on a one night stay, in one ground floor room. Pros: Cheerful and helpful front desk, the beds were comfortable and breakfast was ok. Negatives: Construction On I 35 makes entry and exit to the property “interesting”. This property is literally right next to the highway so there is always freeway noise. The parking lot area is small and very limited, perhaps an early check-in might help you secure a better parking spot. Our room faced the back of the property, and our window was literally right up against a red fence, the drapes were extremely stained and torn and the screens on the windows needed to be replaced. The paint in the bathroom was peeling and we found food from a previous occupant between the furniture and the wall. (Took pictures) There was a constant stomping on the ceiling throughout the night and into the morning. When we asked the front desk about the noise, we were told it was maintenance crews that were there. Based on this experience I probably would not stay here again.

Musty smokey shabby rooms

Reviewed By Alooohatravel

I booked this place because the price was reasonable and it was rated highly on TripAdvisor. The first room I had had a broken lock/latch and as a single female, I didn't feel comfortable with that. The room smelled musty and smokey. I requested another room. The front desk gent was very quick and brought me keys for another room. That room, unfortunately also had an overwhelming musty smokey odor. I figured all the rooms were in the same condition. The towels had stains on them and some of them had been very worn with much of the terry cloth rubbed away. I couldn't get to sleep because I'm highly allergic to smoke and I was so stuffed up I could barely breathe. I called the front desk at midnight and said that I could not stay another night. It's still pending but hopefully they won't make me pay for the second night. I got up in the middle of the night to go to the restroom and there was a roach in there. I was on the second floor. The people in the room above me were up late walking loudly, not the hotels fault but it just added to the discomfort of this place. The room was spacious and the AC worked well but I had booked a king size bed and both rooms only had a queen. The hair dryer was precariously hanging off a nub from something that was previously mounted and didn't work for what was currently there. The staff was nice enough but this place is so run down and creepy, I would not suggest staying here. I ended up going to the Hampton Inn a couple of buildings over for a very comfortable stay for only $20 more. BTW, my clothes smelled of smoke when I opened up my bag at my new hotel. Gross.

Disgusting!! Don’t stay here!!

Reviewed By Happiness715033

Came when we were evacuated for Hurricane Laura and was quoted a price of $50.00 per night. Got here and was charged $74.00. The room is INFESTED with cockroaches!!!! We have already killed 6 and another one has ran behind the dresser and can’t get to it all in the first 3 hours of being here. Front office person would not do anything about it and can’t even sleep now because bugs are crawling all over!! There is no concierge, no free breakfast, and the pool is revolting!! They make it sound nice but trust me don’t waste your money staying here!!

Rude front desk staff

Reviewed By MAried19851986

Lady at front desk was very rude kept repeating herself as if I didn’t hear her the first time. Then put us in between 2 rooms that they were remodeling and my wife couldn’t sleep and she works nights it was just a horrible horrible visit will not be back and will not ever recommend them to anyone unless it’s a crack head cause that’s all that was around and in the motel and had to fight with the roaches that was trying to take our bed
