Absolutely the Best!
Reviewed By Katherine CIt was my first visit to LBI. My husband found this little motel and it was perfection. Just steps away from anything one would need for a beach get-away, and a short drive to everything else. We loved having a mini fridge (with freezer to refreeze our cooler ice packs) and microwave in the room which allowed us to heat up the dinner we brought from home, then we walked across to the beach with our beach chairs to have a little sunset picnic. After dark we walked back to the hotel and enjoyed the mesmerizing sound of crashing waves from the roof top sitting area. Judy was amazing! She greeted us warmly and offered many interesting tidbits of the area. As she's lived there since the 70s, she knows every nook of the island, which for us included some recommendations for vegan restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable, and although on the first floor, just above street level, we never felt 'seen' by passers-by. We appreciated the A/C unit even though we ended up opening the windows at night for the fresh ocean air. We also appreciated the adjustable shower. Sometimes the showers are placed so high up, that I (being only 5'4") end up soaking my hair from above when all I wanted was a shower. The shower faucet had an adjustable arm so it was possible to shower without getting soaked from above. The only possible suggestion I could make would be to bring your own pillow. The pillows we had were very thick and hard foam slabs. I'm sooo glad I travel with my own pillow but my husband had a rough sleeping experience as the pillows were so hard and thick. BUT apart from that, I can't imagine any place better situated on LBI and if we ever have the opportunity to return to LBI, we will definitely stay here. Thank you to Judy for making our stay so memorable!

Staying here and July again!! Location doesn’t get any better, you’re right next to the beach, and a few minutes away from fantasy Island, restaurants and shops!! Holiday snack bar is right around the corner, my favorite spot on the island to grab lunch or dinner! Another gem!!

The Island Guest House has been Voted the Best Bed & Breakfast on Long Beach Island. It is a turn-of-the-century historic Inn, located oceanside in the heart of Beach Haven, New Jersey. You can walk to everything. The owners, Mark and Joanne, work hard to make you comfortable, and provide the lovely setting, ambience, and character that a 100 year old plus Inn affords, updated with modern amenities like WIFI, flat screen TV's, A/C, etc. Some rooms have private decks, his/hers double size shower. Enjoy our bicycles, beach chairs, boogie boards and our outside enclosed shower to rinse off after the beach. Taste homemade breakfast and afternoon refreshments like cakes and cookies from family recipies, and iced tea or lemonade to quench your thirst after the beach. Enjoy coffee 24 hours, and chat with the Innkeepers about things to do in the area. Come and experience the restfulness of our Bed and Breakfast Inn! Couples can get away, and there is an area for well behaved children. We also have a cottage that sleeps 4 with gas fireplace, a bathroom with a bathtub/shower, and accepts good nature dogs. We can accommodate up to 40 people or friends per night. Our Sea Glass room, holds 36, and has a large flat screen TV for movie night or a special game or event. Our garden has 10 umbrella tables and over 300 blooms, has a lighted patio and candles in the evening. With lights shining through the many stained glass windows in the Inn. It is a perfect place to gather and chat, or be secluded together any time. Our cafe kitchen with its large island is a favorite place for guests to feel welcome to come and perch and chat with the Innkeeper over a cup of coffee or treat, or watch us prepare goodies. You can even get a recipe or help! We try to provide assistance without hovering, being sensitive to your needs to relax, and get information when you need it by always being available. We carry our phone with us always even at night when we retire. Throughout our stay, we only ask that if you have any questions or needs, to let us know, because we cannot help you if you wait until checkout.

Reviewed By sullificThere aren't many dog friendly lodging choices in LBI, and the Island House is certainly that. Everyone there when we were there had a dog (admittedly, off-season - not all the rooms are dog friendly rooms, but there are enough to accomodate all the canines when we were there). Very good location, near everything in Beach Haven. Breakfast is good and the service is friendly. Bikes available. Property is kept up and nicely landscaped. Rooms are small (this is a Victorian abode, after all) but modern and clean. We appreciated the deck with our room.

They do their best to update but need some help
Reviewed By Podd55! Older Hotel that has been updated but still smells of disinfectant and mildew! The pool seems to be the nicest part of this hotel as well as nice barbecue grills and very spacious surroundings. But, air conditioner didn't work and very noisy refrigerator running all night keeping us up! When we kindly informed the owner, he didn't seem to care about customer service and give us any type of Retribution. Even throwing us back a $10 bill would have been a kind gesture! Good customer service goes a long way especially when recommending a place to stay! Good location but make sure you bring ear plugs and asthma spray or allergy pills for sure!

(Uber screwed us, we booked the previous night and the counted down for over an hour that our ride was arriving. Also after that countdown said 4 minutes away. They eventually said no drivers available) Screw Uber!!! Amy was so nice at the front desk, she found us a person that could give us a ride to the airport (for money of course). It was much needed and the price was fair. Amy was so nice and calm and a very pleasant person. Thank you again Amy
