Southern Charm

Reviewed By Steve J

Southern charm at its finest. The covered porch and outdoor seating were our favorites. Kathy, one of the owners, greeted us and made us feel right at home. They served spirits from 4-6. This was a special treat before dinner. We walked to the restaurant (Shine) for dinner. It was delicious. We returned and enjoyed a coffee on the porch. They think of every detail. We will visit again.

Lovely accomodations in a beautiful setting

Reviewed By Sir_Elfman

We stayed in a room in the hotel-style Little Echo behind the main house. It was great for us because we could park right in front of the room and there was little walking and no stairs to our room. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and there was a microwave and fridge. It was foggy most our stay, but that added to quaintness. when the fog lifted, there were fabulous views all around. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Very clean and tidy. I was traveling on business and felt very welcome, restaurant and hotel staff were extremely helpful during my stay. The food was also delicious. The filet mignon and Charleston shrimp and grits are my favorite. It's a gorgeous spot with beautiful natural light and rooms. Can’t wait for them to finish the cabins and the pool lounge, I’ll be bringing my kids for the petting zoo as well. I will be back to Asheville for another 16 days and I changed my original at another hotel reservations to return here!

vacation

This was relaxing for us. We have not travelled much in about 2 years because of COVID, quarantines, masking etc and we still won't. But i wanted to go somewhere that I could drive without the hassale of masking and free of the political paranoia of Covid. This place was the ticket. Friendly surroundings, comfortable and welcoming staff. Janet . the innkeeper, is a treasure. The rooms were spacious and a warm inviting environment. We want to return with a group of friends to The Melange. Hendersonville is a great place to walk and feel safe unlike Asheville. No belligerent panhandlers or homeless people to threaten your stay. We have a Jeep so we explored the Saluda Grade rail track about 20 minutes away that was once the steepest grade in North America. So many things to see. Do your homework and plan your stay. The Melange will not disappoint.
