El Roble has very comfortable accommodation and excellent traditional Paraguayan and German cuisine. Almost all ingredients are sourced from the farm. If you would prefer to source your own, there are excellent fishing opportunities nearby, and if you would like to strike out from the farm we provide some adventure activities.

Peter and his family are friendly and helpful, the pool is awesome, and there are various endemic species on his property, both wild and rescued. Bathrooms/showers are super clean. WiFi is excellent. There is also a grill guests can use to cook or barbecue. A stay here is truly an authentic insight into life in rural Paraguay. The town of Belén, with basic food items, is a 30-minute walk if you are cooking for yourself. If not, they have a restaurant, Peter’s wife’s food was delicious! Additionally, following Peter’s advice, we completed a three day kayak trip down the Rio Aquidiban and Rio Paraguay to Concepcion. This trip was a highlight, as the river was constant sandy beaches, fantastic campsites, and filled with toucans, caimans, howler monkeys, jabirus, and one rare king vulture. If you are coming to Paraguay for a week, a stay at El Roble followed by a kayak trip is an excellent plan! Highly recommended!

Rare find in rural Paraguay
Reviewed By Kristi FWe stayed one night at Mbuni. We loved wandering around and interacting with the ostriches. There isn't much to do in the cold or wet weather, bu they have a lovely pool and hammock area. The restaurant was delicious and the breakfast a step up from most in Paraguay. Try the ostrich meat, it tastes just like beef! The owners speak English, Spanish, and German.

Reviewed By cinchucEs lindo el lugar pero definitivamente debe mejorar tema del baño, debe haber más baños porque al haber mucha gente ya no da abasto y no aguanta el baño no se si la gente descompone las cisternas o ya no funcionaban cuando llegamos pero ya se imaginaran. O por lo menos poner una persona que cada tanto limpie, porque de que hay gente que no cuida hay miles... pero otros como nosotros que si tenemos en cuenta nos hubiese gustado un baño mínimamente higiénico a pesar de la gente.. gracias

Reviewed By larissa2020everything was amazing. Top notch service, food and activities. We had a great time. the only thing we wished they had was a generator because there was a power outage throughout the whole city for more than 12 hours without power. You MUST have a car to get around there, there are no taxi services. Staff were helpful to find us a ride and upgraded our room. Highly recommend it!!
