Clean, comfortable, friendly stay

Being coming here for the last 3/4 years and always find the place very comforting after 2.5 years of drive from Kansas City. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are clean, linen feels good. The breakfast is simple but filling. Walmart, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Subway is literally 2/3 minutes walking distance. The Pony Museum is 10 minutes drive. Very recommendable if you want couple of nights for your business travel

Handicapped room was awesome!

Really enjoyed our stay in a very clean, comfortable room. Not the fanciest but at $60 it was the best motel on our 4 day excursion. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. We were traveling in a pickup with a trailer flat bed hauling a tractor. The lady had us park in a fantastic spot. The room had everything you would want including a nice recliner and table for my husband. Large bathroom to accommodate a wheelchair with shower and wheelchair size sink. Large dressers if you were to stay there for an extended time and a nice closet also. Highly recommend this place for sure!! Thank you Surf Mote!!!

Not the best, but it was clean. Shantielle was great.

We were in town for a celebration of life and family reunion. We had a couple small dogs with us, so being able to open the door and be outside was perfect for us. We also liked that the floors were a hard surface and not carpet. The door to our room was very difficult to close, but we learned to work with it. Our check in experience was awful. My mother had reserved the room 5 weeks earlier. She booked it over the phone, so for good measure she called the night before our arrival to make sure they still had us down for 2 nights. They did, so we were all set. When we arrived, I was told we only had one night reserved, not two. I understand mistakes are made, but the gentlemen that checked us in was horrible. He definitely needs to take some customer service classes. It took a long time to get it straightened out, but we did get a room for two nights. At booking, they also told my mom that there was no extra charge for the pets, but that wasn't true. They charge $15 per night, per pet. If we had not had plans to meet someone for dinner, we would have walked out and found somewhere else to stay. One bright spot during our stay was housekeeper, Shantielle. She was wonderful. We didn't want, or need our room attended to because of our small pets. I talked to her before we left for our celebration of life service and she was so kind. She took our trash, and offered us whatever else we needed to get our room back to where we needed it to be after our first night. She was so kind and knows about customer service. She definitely made up for the awful customer service we had at check in. The motel met our needs, but it wasn't the best.
