Terrible experience!

Reviewed By MichelleHu2019

We booked two rooms for three nights during the last week of Jan 2020 via booking.com. Because it was our first trip to Boracay, we were not sure about airport pick-up logistics. We checked the google map. It seemed that the Caticlan airport and the hotel are located at the different island. So we tried to send message to the hotel to check out the airport pick-up a few times via booking.com. No reply. We called the hotel a few times. No one picked up the phone ever! We wonder whether the hotel really existed! Because we were very unhappy about the hotel service, we decided to cancel the booking and requested to waive the cancellation fee. Again never heard from either booking.com or the hotel. It was a very terrible experience! I don’t expect we would receive any service if we stayed there!

Casa La Granja

Isolated, quiet and good for small workshops

Reviewed By Jungle_flycatcher

Casa La Granja is close to a vacation type of place one might consider staying on a longer term than a hotel. It does not seem as inviting as most hotel, in fact one gets the impression that this is more of a private place with its high walls and iron gate that is always close. It is not even obvious where the reception is when you walk into the small ground parking space. The basic requirements are available e.g. hot and cold shower, air-conditioning, clean sheets and bed, towels and basic toiletries. Some rooms are better furnished than the others but most are close to dormitory type of accommodation. There is wifi - a bit slow than we expected. We had booked the hotel for a workshop with over 90 pax and it appears that the hotel is not used to handling bigger group e.g. under staff and a number of times participants were not able to eat lunch or dinner as there was not enough food prepared by the kitchen. There were only two thermos of coffee serving 90 pax - so we always ran out of coffee. I think the place will be ok with 30-50 pax of participants.

For improvement

Reviewed By cy285lu

The Villa was located away from the beach. About 1.5km from Station X. In order to get to D’Mall you would have to ride a tricycle. Be careful as tricycle drivers tend to reap off tourists whether you’re a local or not. Tricycle was 20PHP per person till D’Mall during the time of our visit just make sure to tell the driver that you’re not looking for “special”. The house itself is okay for a big family. There were about 20 of us who went to Boracay and this is where we stayed. We rented the whole villa with 5 rooms, 2 of which were outside near the pool area. Let me breakdown my review according to: 1) Rooms (bedroom, kitchen, sala) 2) toilets 3) other amenities. The rooms inside the main house were very spacious. Though there was only one bed it was a king size that can fit 3 people. And then the owner provided us with 1 mattress per room. Each room has its own T.V., fridge, a small table and a chair. Our room was the biggest, overlooking Bolabog beach and we had our own sofa. Each of the rooms including ones outside had it’s own bathroom. The bathroom that we had was very spacious and had a semi walk-in closet inside. What I like the most in the room is that it was very clean and that the bathroom was quite big. The two rooms outside the main house were near the pool area. I’m not sure how it looks but as per a family member it was cozy and romantic. The kitchen, dining area and sala were in the same area. It was very spacious. What I did not like about it were two things. One, we can’t use the balcony, don’t know why. It was such a waste coz it had the best view and was a very good spot to unwind. Two, the lights become very dim at night. The whole area was not well lit. The pool area was medium size. It has an area where you can hang out either under a shade (which was near the house) or under the sun (opposite side of the house). There was also a hut near the pool area where you and your family can eat. This was where we had our dinner the first night. It had a barbecue area which we made use of and can sit about 20 people. What I didn’t like about this part of the house: 1) the pool can get really cold. Because the house is located on top of a hill the wind can be pretty strong making the pool not well heated. Hard to swim in. 2) The hut area is again not well lit at night. All in all it was a 3.75 ⭐️ for me. It has room for improvement and I feel like if the owners consider some modifications the place would be awesome! ??

Recommending this hotel

The place is actually a perfect place for relaxation. It couldve been better if theres a big mirror and a pool. But over all, its a great place to stay.

Dirty rooms and dirty bathrooms

Reviewed By K6136YZdonnac

Our family arrived on Monday morning after riding a plane, bus, boat and shuttle to get to this hotel. The hotel's description and pictures were misleading. The bedrooms and bathrooms were dirty. One morning, the power went out and the next morning we didn't have any water in our bathroom. My aunt's mini fridge did not work, even after plugging it in and turning it on numerous times. When I asked for toilet paper, since the bathroom did not have any, the front desk person was very rude about it. She didn't even say anything. She just gave me the toilet paper. It was like she was too bothered to do it. My towel was dirty and my pillow case had a yellow stain on it. The good thing was that we went to the hotel to sleep and shower and the beach was only 5 minutes away. It would have been nice to stay somewhere clean and have good customer service. I won't stay in this hotel ever again.
