10 Top-Rated Specialty lodgings in Utah

April 19, 2023 Sheron Bogner

Welcome to “The Greatest Snow on Earth” – Utah’s paradise for all outdoor enthusiasts! As host of the 2002 Winter Olympics, Park City knows how to entertain winter fun seekers. Snowboarders and skiers head for miles of spectacular slopes with deep fluffy powder and breathtaking mountain views. The Olympic Park provides family-friendly ski programs, rides and shows. Alta, Sundance, Snowbird and Brighton are other popular destinations for cross country and Alpine skiers. Those alluring snowy slopes turn to rolling wildflower fields in the summer. Golfing, fishing, horseback riding and water sports replace chilly outdoor sports adventures. Corral the family, pack a picnic and catch one of the ski lifts for an afternoon of hiking or mountain biking along scenic trails. Head to Salt Lake City, where Temple Square hosts millions of visitors a year. Bryce Canyon and Arches National Park are famous for surreal landscapes from horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters to unusual rock formations and hundreds of natural sandstone arches. Closer to home, wander along the quaint main streets of mountain villages to browse, shop and enjoy lunch at an outdoor café. At the end of the day, head home for an outdoor barbecue and an evening of games. Home rentals blend privacy, space and comfort with the cost-saving advantage of eating some meals at home.

Best Lodging! Clean, Comfortable, Spacious, Pet Friendly, Amazing Staff

I can’t say enough good things about our stay! The rooms were spacious and decorated so nice! It’s like entering a luxury B & B. Cute entry way with a gated inside door to prevent pet escapees. Living room area with a couch and tables. Two queen beds that were so clean and comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. Pet pull out bed, pet food and water bowls. Desk area. Frig and mic. Two closets with shelving off the floor with heavy wooden doors to keep pets from snooping. Absolutely beautiful bathroom with barn sliding doors, enclosed shower and toilet area. Had night lights in the bathroom. I could live in there! Pet friendly! The staff were so kind, helpful, friendly, accommodating, professional and engaging. The continental breakfast was absolutely delicious, from fruit, coffee, delicious pastries from a local restaurant and fantastic banana blueberry chia seed jar (I don’t care for banana flavored food, I will make and eat this recipe)! Thank you for an amazing visit!!!!!!! Yes, we will stay again in the Best Friend Lodge on our next visit!

Great place to stay!

This is a really cute and comfy little place to stay. We loved the contactless check-in and were very impressed with the room. It’s adorable and everything looked brand new. The bed was comfy and the location was perfect! We walked around the town a bit and even walked to dinner. It was so nice not to have to get back into the car. After dinner we sat by the fire pit and enjoyed the perfect weather and beautiful stars. We will definitely be back!

I would have spent more to stay in a better room. I thought the photo you see with bunks, was their standard bunk room. It didn't say otherwise. When we got there, the standard room is a 10x10 2 bunks and a table. Otherwise it was fine. Oh right, 2 bunks is not two bunks, it was 1 bunk and a very hard unfolded couch.

Hotel staff and spa Need Major Change

Reviewed By jamestN3940MX

First I am a Forbes Rated business owner self made with many offices around the globe. I know management and I know quality run machines using Tier level evaluations etc.. I think the mountains are beautiful in this area, aside from that I came with my associates who unknowingly did not know I was the sponsor or even the owner, I do this many times a year for positive employees and those who go out of their way to show professionalism and kindness in the workplace. The only word to describe the feeling I felt upon interacting with the management and staff was stress and an uneasy overbearing non relaxed attitude. I know management and I know management gone bad due to some corporate renegade wanting to control the machine rather than make the machine a comfortable work place. I saw condescending unethical behavior from management in both the hotel and spa relations. One instant that was observed was a management director reprimanding either a spa employee or hotel employee almost in tears. Another same issue arrived same way to another employee by a different manager to employee outside on the grounds. This treatment had it been in any of our over 200 offices would have been met with an immediate termination by one of our head offices. Keep in mind that this resort is not a cheap and inexpensive per standard place to visit. We have been to other resorts and it seems like this place is being run by some sort of Nazi mentality. We had an office in Singapore that we were getting messages from that had this nonsense going on and we sent a management team in and fired everyone of the overbearing, overpowering employees. I remember reading the evaluation and it all stemmed from competitive stress and individual control over another using constant pressure with no regard to positive affirmations. In simple terms a stressful work environment. I felt so horrible fro these lower management employees.... terrible and same on either the corporate or management that created this. For gods sake it is supposed to be a relaxed experience and I felt more stress than when I arrived and was so glad to get the H#$# OUT.

Don't forget anything!

Reviewed By kealia

Park Regency is a most adequate resort, and close to many great hiking and sight seeing opportunities in this 2002 Winter Olympics site. Our room unfortunately looked out on a shopping mall, and our "balcony" was right on the street. The interior courtyard of the hotel did have little more privacy. We left a beard/hair trimmer in the medicine cabinet, and when we called and emailed asking them to please send it to us COD, they said that nothing had been found, and refused to let us speak to the manager. The resort was not busy while we were there, so housekeeping could not have missed finding it! Very suspicious!

Once in a lifetime experience!

Reviewed By WilliamO790

My family and I visited the Tipi Village 5 years to the day of my writing this review and we were humbled by the hospitality when our family of 6 visited. In fact we were looking to make it a twice in a lifetime experience and revisit this spring and rent out the hogan which was beautifully adorned and comfortable for us. Unfortunately given the pandemic and how hard it has hit Navajo Nation we understand why they’re closed. On our visit Everything was clean and the proprietors delivered a one of a kind experience including our tour into the valley. I’ve read a review about alleged animal abuse, here is my take on that. If you’ve never been in a Native American nation you may not know but stray dogs are for better or worse commonplace. We saw our fair share including the one seen in my picture who as far as we could tell was friendly, happy and healthy and was a welcome guest in our camp area. I would take with a grain of salt any latte sipping Karen’s out there writing a negative review alleging animal abuse.
