Rhapsody Resort

Drawing inspiration from the sea, Rhapsody’s designers have created a dynamic beachside apartment address. A sophisticated architectural statement reminiscent of grand vessels from a bygone era. A building of two distinct architectonic elements encased in a dramatic corten steel street level hull, destined to become the signature of the Surfers North precinct in Surfers Paradise, Australia.

A nice home away from home

This is a nice and cozy resort for holiday stay, home away from home. There are a number of things that I love about Rhapsody: 1. Daily housekeeping service to keep the apartment nice and shine everyday and we came back with clean towels. 2. The king size bed in master room is so huge and comfortable. 3. Lovely sea view plus water view at the back 4. Parking is provided for which is essential as it is hard to find on Surfers Paradise 5. The front desk is friendly and always helpful 6. Kids’ room is also lovely and the kids enjoyed their own little space. I just love staying at Rhapsody resort each time we go to Gold Coast. It is a second home for us. Thank you!

Top notch views

Our stay at the Q1 was breathtaking from the moment we could see it in the distance as we drove across the Qld/NSW border. Reception service was friendly and efficient. Our booking was 2 x 2 bedroom Ocean Spa apartments, which we were told would be allocated to use the same lift and our cards activated so that we could travel between floors. When we arrived, we had been assigned different lifts but the staff quickly offered to remedy this. We decided it wasn't a big deal as one family would have a higher floor and better view. In hindsight, the same lift would have been better as some of us experienced a bit of vertigo which we think was due to the frequent trips from floor 36 to the lobby and then straight back up to floor 49. The lifts were quick, we didn't have to wait long even at peak times. The indoor pool and Longboards were a great addition to our stay. All common areas were always clean. Our room, 3604 had doors quite close to the lifts. We were pleasantly surprised when there was zero lift noise during the entire stay. The room was huge and the highlight would have had to have been that killer view. 270 degrees with views of Stradbroke Island to the North and down to Coolangatta to the South. The sunsets had us up early, even though there were blockout blinds but we were glad to witness them. Big frosted glass sliding doors to each bedroom meant that the sunlight came in early and it was quite warm. Being able to open up the balcony doors and windows meant it was always comfortable with the breeze flowing through. Everything was clean and the apartment had everything we needed in the kitchen and laundry. A short walk into surfers paradise meant we always had something to do and the convenience store, BWS and takeaway shops downstairs were handy.

Stayed here for 2 nights with family. Location is great as it is only a few minutes walk from the beach and all the shops and restaurants in Surfer's Paradise. Room was clean and spacious but was disappointed with the lack of free-wifi. Restaurant is only open for breakfast buffet but I highly recommend it as it was only $25 per person with a large selection of foods and beverages. Staff at the front desk were friendly.

Good Location

The accommodation offered was a good size for 2 adults and with outstanding ocean views. Bathroom was a good size and with a separate laundry helping on those wet days. Kitchen vacuity’s we’re good. The only complaint really was the overall cleanliness of the accommodation, it’s been sometime since the accommodation has had a through good clean, also finding a used tissue in one of the bedside drawers. The lifts can be annoying slow at nights as we were left standing waiting for a lift to arrive on the 29th floor for 10 minutes at times.

Too expensive

Reviewed By Mark M

I think for paying $300 a night, for a room, with no parking, no breakfast, no guest umbrellas for use. Charged for parking $20 per day. Staff don’t seem friendly or helpful. I do not recommend this hotel, nor will I stay again . In fact Gold Coast has become too expensive for most families, and most of the rides in the parks are closed for maintenance, but still charge full price admission??? A better option would be going to Bali. In my opinion…

A gem in Surfers Paradise

Booked in here for a 2 week break and were astounded with the service provided by Lyn and Sarah. Could not speak highly enough of them and our stay at Breakers. Nothing was too much trouble . The rooms were extremely clean a credit to the staff who do the cleaning. They were always bright and cheerful. These premises are much quieter than staying in central Broadbeach but are only 5 minutes from same. The rooms were spacious , good views of beachfront and no noisy guests. Showers were very good an important point for us . Everything was provided for cooking , foxtel, washing and drier. We have no hesitation recommending this venue for a good holiday.

SO BAD

Reviewed By C9644DZloud

This place is dreadful; rude staff (when their around; no staff overnight when you need them!), and a poorly cleaned very daggy room. Our stay was made even more unpleasant by other guests who were drunk and really badly behaved, fighting, swearing and no-one on site to assist. We were treated to a false fire alarm with the fire brigade turning up (apparently this is common because of guests smoking in their rooms). They have permanent apartments with what seems to be a drug business going on. Guests/residents coughing up their lungs from the balconies at night. Not at all a pleasant or restful stay. Just horrible really. We went out as much as possible to avoid being here. The place is gawdy and old; showing its age. Recommend you AVOID this place. Just yuck.

I am a regular visitor to the GC and stay at lots of different places. Beachcomber has a reputation as dodgy accommodation but the price was right (even though high for a weekend) but I like the location and wanted something with a view. You definitely get what you pay for here. The view was nice and we had a great view of the ocean and Surfers. The unit (2407) was more spacious then expected but that was about all I can say on a positive note. Firstly no soap in the unit whatsoever so washing hands was an issue. The place was just drab with old horrible furniture, walls damaged, threadbare curtains, disgusting lounge, some mould, worn carpet, filthy windows, filthy ceiling fan, 2 outdoor plastic chairs without a table that I thought might collapse, and just a vibe I would describe as gross. (There were other things as well). We had a major issue getting back into the building at night. The pass got us into the carpark but would not let us into the basement lobby. We tried for 20 minutes to get in and tried 2 doors. As panic started to set in as we didn't know how we were going to get to our room and started looking for an after hours number to call. We were saved by someone else coming by and letting us in with them. Luckily the swipe let us into the room. I reported it the next day to reception and it barely even raised an eyebrow and I was told yes it can be "temperamental". Not a good enough response to a guest locked out of the building. Speaking of the staff is it that hard to show some interest and friendliness to paying guests? I spoke to about 5 persons during the stay and at best there was a cold courteousness displayed to just plain uncaring. The older maintenance man just walks around grumpy and didn't even speak when I said good morning. I guess this place is 1 to 2 stars at best. It could be so much better with some nicer staff (find a job you like) and some money spent on the units. If you are a backpacker you will feel at home even though you wouldn't be able to afford it. Unfortunately I won't be back.
