Great family weekend

Reviewed By Alissa D

We stayed at the Riverwalk over Memorial Day weekend with another family. We had 7 people in a two bedroom unit. Plenty of space for all of us. The resort is beautiful! Our balcony faced the mountain side, very peaceful and pretty view. The kids loved the pool and game room. We spent both afternoons at the pool, it never felt crowded. We hiked Lost River Gorge and Caves, and the Flume Gorge, big hit with everyone. Took the tram to the top of Cannon Mountain, loved the view. We went to Common Man, and One Love brewery for dinners. The brewery is walking distance from the hotel. My fav was breakfast at Polly’s pancake Parlor, worth the 20 min drive from the hotel (go early, and call ahead). Beautiful resort, cute town, and gorgeous area. Perfect spot to spend a few days!

Plenty of room. We had two bedroom, two bath loft suite. Kitchen is nice to have coffee and breakfast. Gas fire place makes it cozy. Rooms are basic but clean. Restaurants bar cozy chalet atmosphere with unfortunately horrible food. Service was good but we would try the restaurants across the street if we return.

Quick trip to Winni

Reviewed By JTW52018

We had a brief stay over this past Summer in the Inn. We chose the Margate because we never stay in that area and we had nostalgic family connections to it. The lobby was welcoming and adorable at first impressions. Has a nice modern lake-life theme. We spent quite a bit of time in the indoor pool because the lake did not have enough beach chairs/ seating. We did get to play on the lawn. The beach itself was just swamped with a crowd but it was July! The outdoor pool at the inn was quiet and private but it was beyond cold haha! My kids found it refreshing but as an adult it was too much. Our room had two sections so we had 4 full/queen beds. The TV in the main room was very small for the wall but it did the trick. I think the room could have been cleaner but the little things that existed were not enough to complain. Our door did not lock properly but someone came to fix it quickly. The restaurant appeared closed while we were there but we never really checked on it again. We were so close to plenty of food options. We would go back with the family.

Do not recommend staying here

Reviewed By terriswansonrn

When we showed up the first thing we noticed was how run down the place was compared to the photos. When we pulled into our parking spot we immediately noticed the rat traps. Not mouse traps, rat traps. We entered our room and it smelled like raw sewage. We tried leaving the door open to let the smell out while my husband checked the bathroom to see if something happened. After ten minutes with the door open the smell wasn’t really better we decided to leave. We did explain why we couldn’t stay to the front desk. No real response, because they knew. I don’t honestly know how anyone could rate this place as a place to stay. If you rent here, you have been warned.

Close to the White Mountains but away from the hubub

We stayed for 4 nights in October, when the leaves were starting to get spectacular. The resort owns an entire mile long pristine lake. We stayed in the Lakeside Cottage, just steps from the canoes and kayaks which are free to use. Lakeside Cottage was one of the few rooms with a king sized bed. It's right next to the lake on ground level, so there's not a lot of privacy. This was not a problem for us since most of the time there were no people at the lake in the chilly October weather. There were 2 mini refrigerators, a toaster oven and a microwave, but no plates or utensils, so bring your own. I also suggest bringing a power strip so you can plug in all your electronics at the desk. WiFi was fine. The restaurant across the street was quite nice as well. The whole experience was excellent and very affordable. We will be back!

Great Historical Hotel with unbeatable views. Stayed in the new presidential wing, much different from rooms in the main building. Many restaurants, bars, and coffee options. Hours/Days vary a bit for food/dining; you can get this pre trip online or they will give you all the information on a print out when checking in. Indoor and outdoor pool are heated and open til 10pm! Great views of the presidential range from just about anywhere on backside of the hotel. Sunset on the porch is amazing. Weeknights are far less crowded then Friday/saturdays.
